Is this made out of Valyrian Steel?

It is a nice representation of Valerian steel, but this is only a display, letter opening device.To get a sense of what Valerian steel might look like, visit the site of the British Museum and look at the Sutton Hooks treasures.

Description says 11" and 9". Can someone please tell me the actual length?

The one I received is not sharp. The blade edge appears roughly 1/16" or about 1.5 mm thick. The point is some what sharp but due to the thickness mentioned it is not a keen point, it has more of a corner feel to it. The point would scratch you if mishandled. Hope this helps.
