Depending upon which character you order, it will be between 34" and 36" tall. My nephew loved the pirate and he beat the living tar out of it. It lasted several months. He even played with it outside on the driveway.

How big is the filling opening? I'm hoping we can use sand instead of water.

Actually, sand works better than water.

Picture is misleading. is there one item or a pair of them? which pattern is it because i want the mexican wrestler ;)

I agree. I ordered this item and only got one and it was not the Mexican wrestler. This product it extremely cheaply made and it not worth the money or time.
