Here's what I've noticed about this flatware: Sturdiness: This was my primary concern, and I'm happy. This flatware is very sturdy; however, if you like mashing things with your fork, there is a little give. Otherwise, the spoons work great in ice cream and are generally super sturdy. Edges: I like to cut things with the edge of my fork. When I first felt the edges of the flatware, I didn't expect it to cut well -- it's kind of rounded and blunted. Surprisingly, it cuts really well. The spoons too. No issues here. Finish: I didn't really care a lot about the finish, but this flatware changed my mind. This finish is amazing! It's so polished, things have a hard time sticking to it. Plus it feels insanely smooth. Looking at other reviews, it looks like the finish lasts too. 10/10 on the finish. Feel: Other than the amazing finish, this flatware feels good in your hand. It's not quite as hefty as I'd have liked, but it definitely has a substance to it. They feel nice in the hand and work well ergonomically. Shape: The spoons are a really nice shape -- your lip just comfortably conforms to them -- not too deep or broad. The forks have a nice curve to them -- not too flat, not too curvy. I don't like to use the long forks, but they're not overly long from the little bit I played with them. Tines are a nice distance apart.

I ordered this product and received it a day before it was scheduled to arrive, which was exciting!! But about the actual product... The set includes 8 teaspoons, 8 regular spoons, 8 salad forks, 8 regular forks, 8 knives, 1 serving spoon, 1 draining serving spoon, 1 butter knife, 1 clam-shaped spoon, and 1 large serving fork. First of all, let me tell you how downright attractive this set is. The shine is amazing and the design is quite simple. Each utensil came packaged in its own plastic bag (which is recyclable plastic #4), and utensils of a set were banded together. Now, I have hyperhidrosis which causes my hands to sweat A LOT. As I was removing the flatware, I tried not to touch it too much as I figured it would turn out smudged from my hands. Well, the result (even with plenty of handling) was not a single fingerprint!! Using the set is great. It has a very nice weight and the pieces are comfortable to handle. In addition, the knives lay "blade" up (though the blades are not sharp to the touch, so no fear of accidents!), which is a very nifty design to keep mess off the table. Overall, this is my first set of silverware and though my parents have had numerous high quality flatware sets over the years, I feel this set is completely on par with higher-end flatware. Lastly, true 18/10 flatware can be difficult to find online. Having had 18/0 standing in until I received this set, I can now speak for the world of difference that was made yesterday when this package showed up on my doorstep. No more rust! :) I would highly recommend this product.

love the weight and feel. love that i can use the butter knives as steak knives, they cut very well through andouille, prime rib, chicken and veggies and whatever else we eat. i dont need to order a set of steak knives, which is good because we wouldnt have a place to store those without littering our limited counter space even more. we ordered them one month ago and have used them each day, even entertaining friends and family twice in that time. we've used every piece, including the butter server and big slitted spoon and ladle. all of the pieces have been washed several times, almost strictly in the dishwasher at high temps. not a spot of rust or discoloring has occurred. no bends, they are a very nice set for the price. i have boon looking for a set for two-plus years before i finally settled on these. sears had the same set for $168, and belk had a similar set by oneida that was way too flimsy. this set looks great without being too flashy, they are sturdy, 100% dishwasher safe, the knives cut through steak and chicken and veggies, the spoons possess nice bowls, and for the price they are very nice and the set contains many, even if youre entertaining guests.

Perfect silverware set. Washes well in the dishwasher and has a heavy feel to them.

I absolutely love this set. They are strong, the knives have a good seration and comfortable to handle. This would make a great gift for newlyweds or a first home.

Just got this set. Like the design. It's pretty, and much heftier than our $30 silverware set. However - it was damaged and scratched up on delivery. Which while probably largely the fault of the fulfill-er on Amazon (MMP Living) also made me question how robust this silverware is. This is supposed to be 18/10 steel. Yet, it is more highly magnetic than our cheap, $30, 18/8 (or 18/0) cookware. We can put small round magnets on the forks and spoons, stand them upright, and their is enough magnetic steel 1-2 will hold in place, sideways, on the rounded edge. The knife has so much steel we can stack about 20 magnets on top of each other, stand up the knife, they will stay where they are like they were bolted in place. (I took a bunch of pictures of this behavior if anyone wants to see, or doesn't believe me. Let me know below and I'll post them in customer photos). Google "is 18/10 stainless steel magnetic?" for more info. The "butter believer" site has a good simple explanation. I'm giving these four stars for now but will update after more wear and use and see how they hold up, and whether or not they pit, oxidize, or corrode over time.

Last time we bought flatware online it was an Oneida set that looked good in pictures but was a little less substantial in person. This Henckels flatware is actually nicer in person than in pictures. It's handsome but also feels really nice in the hand. The individual pieces are very substantial and have a nice heft to them. They don't look or feel as if they've been stamped out of sheet metal the way some flatware can. We've had no trouble with spotting or discoloration. They come out of the dishwasher drying cycle all shiny. All pieces are quite substantial. You can scoop hard ice cream with the spoons without fear of the handle bending. The knives can actually cut through food. The way the knives poise on edge is an interesting design that my wife and I both like. We've both commented spontaneously to each other that this flatware was a really good choice and an excellent value.

My wife and I were looking for a new flatware set for home. We have a more modern looking decor and wanted something that would compliment the rest of our home. We've been using these for our daily set now for almost 6 months and have no complaints and really like how they look and how well they've held up after daily use. All the handles are comfortable to hold while eating and all of the pieces have some heft to them- they definitely don't look or feel cheap in any way. If you're familiar with Henckels knives then you have a pretty good idea of the quality of this set. HOWEVER: I should point out that the knife is a bit non-traditional. Basically, it doesn't lay flat on it's side like most knives, instead the handle is designed in a way that the knife edge is vertical when laid on the table. It's definitely unique and I can imagine some people being really turned off by it, but both my wife and I have no problems with it either way. I can't say that this is "better" or "worse" then traditional knives, but it works just fine and just takes a little getting used to.

I love the polish and shine of this set! It feels solid! I love how the knives fit on the plate and rest blade vertical! :)
