Meet the Mohu curve 50. Mohu was the first to rethink how an indoor HDTV antenna should look and, in the process, created the world's first paper-thin HDTV antenna called the Leaf. Mohu done it again with the New curve 50, taking antennas another aesthetically pleasing step forward. Mohu curve 50 brings a fresh look to indoor antennas, while delivering the same great top performance as Our famous Leaf antenna. We believe there's no reason why an antenna in your living room shouldn't be both highly functional and beautiful. Designed to be easy to plug in and set up, the curve 50 allows you to quickly enjoy free access to available over-the-air TV broadcast channels in crisp, clear pictures in full 1080p HDTV. The curve 50 can find all over-the-air broadcast TV channels within a 50-mile radius of your home. This multi-directional antenna comes with a 16 ft. Cable and an included antenna amplifier with clean peak filtering technology. With clean peak, the amplifier filters out cellular and FM signals, letting you pull in a clearer picture, receive more channels, reduce dropouts and increase your overall viewing experience. The amplifier's patent Pending USB powering option boasts an impressive 15 db of gain across the entire television broadcasting band, allowing the weakest signals to be received and viewed. Coupled with the clarity of over-the-air broadcast signals, the curve 50 delivers a more superior picture quality than is possible through the compressed cable or satellite broadcast signals. Depending on what's broadcast in your area, you'll soon be able to watch popular National TV networks and local TV shows at no cost. With the Mohu curve 50 you no longer have to pay high monthly cable or satellite bills to enjoy your favorite shows. The curve 50 can pull in your favorite local and National news, weather, sitcoms, kids' shows, TV Series and sports programming with no monthly contract or bills.

Probably not worth it if a thin antenna is not good enough
I cut the cord a long time ago and I have been using a thin mohu antenna on my TV for a while. With the Fire TV Recast now released I decided to upgrade my setup, starting by the antenna. To do so I tested a few options, full list and one sentence summary of all the one tested at the end.The main advantages of this antenna over the 40 Mile range one is the amplifier and the detachable antenna cable. Unfortunately the amplifier do not really improve the signal received in my case. This model is also less adapted to be wall mounted, the bracket do not have the convenient screw holes in the back. I would not recommend this specific design, if a small non amplified unit is not working for you this one will probably not improve your reception by much.Products tested: Mohu Arc 40, 40 Mile Range Overall good if strong signal in the area. Mohu Curve 50, 50 Mile Range Same as Arc 40 but with an amplifier that do not really helps, not worth it. HDTV Antenna, 50-80 Mile Range with Amplifier Quite small, with amplifier, overall slightly better than the Arc 40 Mohu Air 60, 60 Mile Range with Amplifier Very compact for the range (flat but thick). Overall one of the best reception / size ratio. GE 33692 Attic Mount HD TV Antenna, 60 Mile Range Best reception even if there is no amplifier included. But it's very bulky for an in room use, definitively attic only. If you have a lot of space go for an antenna like this, or a bowtie one.

Zero channels
One star earned for the nice appearance given the price point. I have a Mohu Leaf 30 antenna that I have been pleased with until I recently moved - at my new location my signal strength cuts out at times. I thought this amplified Mohu Curve 50 antenna would be the solution. For comparison, a channel scan with the Leaf 30 receives 1 analog channel and 18 digital channels. In the same spot, a channel scan with this refurbished Curve 50 receives 0 channels. I verified the power outlet and connections, and did channel scans with various placements, and got a maximum of 1 analog channel received. Product literature included in the box states: "This product has been 100% tested prior to shipping and meets the same performance standards as newly manufactured units." Oh well. Also, noted it does not have a wall mounting option so optimal placement is not necessarily possible.

Gets more stations that the non-curve model
Works very well: I had already bought one of these for another room. Then, figuring that I didn't need to have another one be free-standing and could save the money, I bought the Mohu "non-curve" version of this model. For some reason, the non-curve version only got 90% of the stations of the original purchase. I returned the non-curve version and got a duplicate of the original version (this model). It worked perfectly and got all of the stations that the earliest one did.

Not nearly as good as the Leaf.
I have two of the Mohu Leaf antennae and I could not be happier with them. However, this item, the Mohu Curve 50, for some reason does not work anywhere near as well as the flat Leaf antenna. I don't know what the reason for that would be, but no matter which room I try to use it in, or how I try to place it, it will not pull in more than a few (maybe 3 to 6) of the 30 terrestrial stations I receive with the other Mohu Leaf antennae, and sometimes it will not pull in any at all. This is very frustrating. I should have just ordered a third Leaf antenna.

It is by far the best one on the market
This is my second Mohu antenna. It is by far the best one on the market. I have two others but they do not provide the reception and quality of this antenna. I wish I had originally purchased two rather then one at time.

It appears that part of the problem is a very weak amplifier since it worked a bit better with an RCA amplifier
While we're able to get MOST of the local channels this doesn't appear to do very well with CBS (within 12 miles of transmitter) and is subject to interference. It appears that part of the problem is a very weak amplifier since it worked a bit better with an RCA amplifier. Still there are less expensive models with as good if not better quality signal.

Great reception
Great reception with this antenna. I had a different one and with this one I get so many more channels. Love it.
