Very impressed, full coverage on medium brown hair!
This was perfect for my last minute Mystique costume; at first I was worried because it looks a lot more pink in the container, but it definitely shows up red on the hair. My hair is medium-ish brown and the color showed up very vibrant. It looks more ginger in the pics because my camera doesn't pick up bright colors well; it's definitely more vivid scarlet red in real life. It's very easy to apply, and it only took about half the jar to cover my shoulder length hair. It does make your hair feel crunchy; I applied it while my hair was slightly damp, and let it air dry -- I feel like applying it on wetter hair might work better to spread it through more evenly. I would say the feeling is comparable to when you put dye on your hair and while you're waiting to rinse it out it gets kind of dry / stiff. It takes a little bit of time to rinse out, but it did all come out of my hair with one shampoo. It feels like there's a little bit of residue on my hair and it feels a teeny bit dry, but by the next wash it should be fine. It didn't stain my hair or skin at all; it didn't really come into contact with my clothes so I can't speculate on that, but I did end up sleeping in it with a towel under my head and there was barely any transfer on the towel when I woke up. I touched my hair multiple times throughout the day and purposely shook it around, and the wax didn't flake off or "snow" on anything lol. Opinions on the smell are mixed; I think it smells like a typical hair gel, my brother said that "whatever I put in my hair smelled good", and my SIL said it smelled like ammonia lol. I guess everybody's nose is different and you'll have to judge for yourself. Overall I think this is a great option for someone who wants to try out a hair color without the commitment, or for a cosplay / costume, or someone with dark hair who doesn't want to damage it with bleach in order to get fun colors.

Pretty good pigment, considering our hair was dark black
I have really thick locks completely black so I didn’t expect the product to show up, but honestly, it coated my whole head and everybody thought I had actually dyed my hair, I Of course it feels a little weird I mean, it’s clay. But considering how much hair I have, and I use less than a 2/3 of the container- it came out in two washes no residue left just be sure to use conditioner after scrubbing it out So your hair isn’t dried out-. It’s not completely transfer proof but it would take me actually laying on something for the color to stain-. No, the red is not actually red it’s More like a burgundy/Magenta look. - And you have to let the clay completely dry for the color to set- The white is actually silver- The silver is actually white.. don’t ask- And the blue is bright and really cool- A plus is it smells really good!

Red is Hot Pink, NOT Red. Great Product Otherwise
I ordered this in a whim for Halloween. I had my hair bleached and died Diablo Red, loved it, but knew nothing about color care. I bought this to use on Halloween to darken and style my fading red hair color. It turned my red hair to a metallicy hot pink. I tried to darken it with some water, stay-in conditioner, clay-based pomade, water-based pomade, and high-gloss hair spray. It came out OK, but it definitely ruined my hair color. After washing it out, my hair was completely hot pink again. Other than the blatantly false/misleading product color description, this stuff works really well. Heat it up and mix it to a consistent color and viscosity with a hair dryer, spread it on your palms with your finger tips, apply to wet hair. If you bunch up a spot, just throw a little water on it and comb it through. It's a styling wax-based pomade with carrier oils and color in it, not a temporary color depositing mask. If you want an easy dye mask to use, get something like XMONDO. If you want dirt-cheap, decent grade costume hair products with temporary color in them (and don't want real Red), get this.
