This hitch fit right on and everything lined up perfect. The only issue I had was getting the old one off. I had to cut the bolts off of the trailer because the were so rusted because of so many salt water launches. But this new one looks so much more heavy duty compared to the original one that came on the trailer. The metal is a lot heavier and the latch seems like it give a more positive lock to the ball. I couldn't be more happy with it. it's not the cheapest one out there but the price was middle of the road and the quality is very good. very pleased it is a noticeable difference that gives me peace of mind knowing that it will stay attached to my truck. I never had an issue with my old one but it was time to change it out it was over 20 years old and was starting to get sloppy. Mike Whitney

I bought this to repair an old boat trailer coupler that could not be repaired. This coupler fits a 3 inch wide square tube tongue. I had read that these are a universal bolt pattern, but that is not what happened in my case. While the top 2 bolts are on 3 inch centers and the side 2 bolts are on 3" centers, the 2 sets are not aligned properly. which in my case meant I could only use the top 2 bolts as they nuts were welded in my tongue. I had to drill new holes for the bolts. Not that it was a problem to do but I had to consider that it would slot the old holes with the new holes. Just something to keep in mind prior to ordering. I would buy this coupler again.

Excellent product heavy duty easy to bolt on used grade 8 bolts nice 6000# capacity excellent price Installed it on a thick wall 3" square tubing. Top two bolts run all the way thru the tube. Can't do that with side bolts because the holes are located too close to the top holes thus not allowing bolts to go all the way thru the side holes I just welded four grade 8 nuts inside the HD thick wall tubing and screwed shorted bolts in from the outside Worked just fine. The unit could also be welded on if you like but that would make future repairs much harder The only thing that could be improved is the size of the safety pin for the latch. The one furnished is just too small and useless I just simply replaced it with a 1/4" HD pin from Tractor Supply Butch's Rods & Customs

I actually expected this, with a rating of 6000#, to be a bit better made..... using heavier material thickness of steel. That is why it gets only 4 stars. However, after careful examination, it is well made, it looks good, will be easy to use, and should give a long life if not abused some way in the future. You can buy this with confidence, and the price is low enough that even if you have a smaller load trailer you can use this just fine and not waste your money at all on buying too heavy a duty unit. It fit perfectly, though I did have to drill out one hole, even though I measured it as the tongue was a little higher than what I measured. I don’t have to fight the coupler anymore, which is nice. Great price.

Great coupler, well built, can’t for wrong.holes line up perfectly on my trailer, and all of the parts work as they should. I would recommend this coupler for sure.
