Samsung UN55HU7250 Curved 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz Smart LED TV (2014 Model)

I thought I might regret spending so much for a TV. Especially one that uses a technology that isn't widely adopted yet. Nope, this tv is GREAT. It has 1 issue, which i'll highlight at the end, but otherwise this is the greatest TV I've ever used. If you have a PC with a video card and you hook it up, the 4k images and gaming is absurd. You don't know how good it looks until you've seen it. The curve adds a nice theater like effect that is not distracting at all. The TV is super smart, for example if I turn my PS4 on the TV will turn itself on soon after. I can't get the x-box one to do this, I'm not sure if it's cause of the HDMI port or the Anyconnect+ stuff. But regardless, it's very convenient. It also automatically switches to the PS4 when I turn it on if no other HDMI device is on. Again, only PS4 does that for some reason for me. I use the TV with a flashdrive or my local network to play downloaded content, works flawlessly. In addition you can cast youtube and other services to it very similar to how the Chromecast works. Except it works more consistently... I have a lot of issues with my Chromecast and youtube, eventually it goes wild and doesnt want any more devices adding to the queue or pausing the videos. This Tv however doesn't have those problems. And to be clear - the TV doesn't have to be in an app mode or anything for your youtube to see it. You could be in the middle of playing a PS4 game and if you cast youtube to the TV it'll take over. It's awesome and convenient. It has 1 problem. There is a limited amount of 4k content. The only 4k content I have must be streamed from the TVs own Netflix or Amazon Prime players. That is not the problem, i knew this going in. The problem is using those apps with a sound bar connected with an optical cable. Whenever the bitrate changes at all on netflix or amazon prime the TV will adjust the signal sent to your sound bar. This causes moments of annoying silence every time it happens. It's easy to look past, I still watched all of Daredevil in 4k with this happening maybe 3-4 times an episode. But it is a problem. The PS4, x-box one, or any other streaming service doesn't have this problem. It must have something to with the optical connection or something. I've read up on it online and it's a common problem unfortunately for us folks who want good sound but not an amazing sound system. If you use an HDMI receiver or just us the TV speakers you'll be fine. But if you have a sound bar with Optical you may experience some sound issues when using the native apps. But I say if that's the worst problem, I'm not complaining. And as 4k content becomes easier to access then i'll be relying less on the native apps. No regrets, best TV i've ever used. Feature and picture wise. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I am very satisfied with the viewing quality of this 4K TV. I have got two great surprises. First, for years I have accumulated many AVCHD videos using Sony camcorders. Playing these videos was somewhat challenging. For example; I had to use a Sony Bluray player. Not any more. UN65HU7250 can directly play AVCHD videos. Compared to the quality viewed using Sony Bluray player on my Sumsung 1080 55", I can feel obvious improvement on this UN65HU7250 TV. Second, I have been using a private Could, WD MyCloud, to host my home videos and pictures. UN65HU7250 immediately provided access to WD MyCloud as soon as I connected this TV to my WiFi. The loading speed is obviously better than my WD TV Live box. Since there are only few 4K movies on the market, the 4K TV's capacity is choked by lack of contents. This is not true if we count in our own AVCHD videos and high resolution pictures. I have been enjoying partial or full quality of 4K resolution everyday since I bought this TV just before Thanksgiving Day. The only inconvenience is that currently this TV does not have the player to view wmv videos. I hope such a play could be added in a future firmware upgrade.

This is the first TV I've purchased in about 10 years. I couldn't find a picture that was better than my Samsung 1080P. It was a plasma and I loved it, but alas it was time to step up to 4K PC gaming-and I haven't looked back. The picture clarity on this item is amazing. I am running a GTX 980 (only one) and I can play *most* games maxed out at around 30 or 40 frames per second. Some games I turn down, but here's the great thing about 4k: You don't really need extreme anti-aliasing. At that high of a resolution (this panel supports 3840 x 2160p [native] and 4096 x 2160p), you don't need it because the edges are already smooth. I thought long and hard about this versus a 144hz monitor - but for me size always wins out. I play Civilization V and it looks incredible. At 2160p, the textures are awesome (on everything). I also play Skyrim at 4K (texture mod downloads) and it's awesome. Make sure you get a 3ft or under HDMI cable, specifically with HDMI 2.0 speeds (the plugs are the same - just check specs for 2.0 standard speeds - and DON'T buy gold plated HDMI cables. It makes NO difference with digital signals.). Also, I've seen a lot of people saying that the curve is gimmicky, but I LOVE it. It adds a bit of immersion if you sit closer than five foot from the TV. All in all - this display is excellent. Well worth it if you can get it for the $1499 or less price tag!

Great picture. Probably the best I've seen. 4k content on YouTube and Netflix are quite impressive. The smart features are excellent and processor speed is top notch. Sound is sufficient for a thin panel. Colors are vibrant and lifelike. In my opinion, the true strength of this tv is its ability to upconvert 1080p content. Whatever video processing algorithms used to "create" those extra pixels is truly remarkable. So for all of those who may be on the fence about 4k tvs due to the lack of content available should consider this one just for its ability to really improve and sharpen standard HD. The only negative thing I've noticed on this tv is image judder and distortion with fast moving scenes. The "Clear Motion" engine really sharpens and smooths out the object in motion but unfortunately when things move too fast the image distorts and "judders". Luckily you can disable this feature, or just scale it down a bit. There are many functions and calibration settings to tinker with. I was able to really improve the picture from the factory settings, however the TV does have a great picture out of the box. The curve is pretty subtle. It's really a matter of taste and you either like it or you don't. It in no way distorts the image unless you are at a very extreme angle. I'm happy with this TV and feel as it was money well spent. *EDIT/UPDATE* After owning this panel for several weeks, I've noticed a few positives and negatives not mentioned in the above original review. First, the negatives... There are some subtle clouding/spotlighting issues with the backlight. Certainly not significant but definitely worth mentioning. When the screen is all black, the "stray" backlight bleeding is noticeable along the top and bottom edges as if a spotlight was shining from the edge to the middle of the panel. This in no way affects the quality/uniformity of the picture while showing content but can be distracting when viewing in a dark room. Another issue is the backlight not uniformly filling the four corners of the panel. About an inch or so from each corner is where the light seems to slightly fade off. The brighter the content the more noticeable the fade. Again, not significant or very distracting but worth mentioning. The positives are after recently purchasing a quality Blu-Ray player. I've realized the strength of this panel is relative to the quality of the input source. I felt that Netflix/Youtube and Cable (Fiber) were very good. However after watching a good Blu-Ray movie, it performed well beyond the quality of the steaming/cable sources. Another positive is the black/contrast settings. After adjusting these settings to their near-extremes, the picture quality appears sharper and more realistic. I snagged this one for $1297 with free scheduled shipping so feel I really got a good bargain. The delivery was on time and hassle-free. I'm no technophile....all I know is what I see, and the picture on this set is out of this world great, I mean, I have never owned anything close to this. Sporting events are awesome and even stuff on my Roku looks so good it is crazy. It appears you are looking out a window it is so clear. I saw some reviews where they say it gets blurry with fast motion sports but after watching football and basketball all weekend, I did not have this issue. Clear and steady as a bell. I have the sound hooked up through the optical output and all is well there. The one thing I do not like it the base is not a swivel, which I need in how my room is setup. This will probably not be an issue for most users, but I did buy a swivel base that will be here on Wednesday. I did not take stars off for this because it is really not the tvs fault and was not promised in the description or anything. Setup was very easy and it controls my cable box with no issues as all. Overall, the first few days with this tv have been a joy, and I look forward to years of use! Love it!

We bought the set to replace a Mitsubishi 57" HD projection TV, mainly because we didn't want to continue the yearly process of bulb replacement. The older set had a fantastic picture so we were not expecting improvement. We were wrong. The Samsung has the most amazing picture that I have ever seen. We watched an ultra HD demo on YouTube and couldn't believe what we saw. Fantastic! Further, the curved screen somehow gives depth to the picture, and we seat ourselves around nine feet from the screen. Only bother I have is the placement of the mute button on the remote. It is located where you grab the control. Highly recommend this set to anybody that want the best picture but doesn't need or want 3D. Update: I originally gave the tv five stars, because of picture quality and features; an amazing set. However, after only one year and a half, I suddenly lost the picture (but retained sound). A technician is coming over to diagnose the problem, but he suggested over the phone that it could be the panel and worse, the screen ($800+). Of course, the set is outside of warrantee. Very disappointed.

Hey, Guys and Gals, This is the new age. This product is fantastic. Easy setup, great HD/enhanced video, tons of features without overwhelming you to HAVE to use them. Buy this one and you'll be a happy viewer. We still use ROKU, but we understand you can do Netflix, Amazon, etc. native on this gem of a TV. We're going to order a 65"-70" model for our family room. We have this one in our bedroom at about 8-feet away and it's like being in the picture. Order from Amazon and get their included White Glove delivery. Guaranteed set-up where you want it. No worries about any defects / problems with this superb TV. You may be able to see it at one of your local bricks and mortar retailers, but even if not, ORDER IT. Then go look for your socks!.

After a few month of owning this tv i came to leave an more accurate review. Before purchasing i saw there were complaints about the blacks not being dark enough and the screen having clouding issues. i can confirm the screen does have those issue. But with the size of the lcd you can expect clouding. It isn't a plasma were it wouldn't cloud due to the materials used. The bigger the display the more it will cloud. Also the clouding and black not being as dark as it should be does not take away from the picture quality at all. In fact you cannot see it as it is showing any images so don't let that discourage you from buying this tv set. Overall i am very happy with this purchase. The apps work flawless the display looks amazing. The curve doesn't take away any of the reflecting light but it doesn't add to it. In general there isn't much glare at all but thats my set up. The volume is very loud louder then my other tv sound bar set up and that set up isn't even a year old. When using it for my ps4 the picture quality is stunning and much more clear then my 1080p led tv this pretty new. I would recommend this.

It's dosn't work at all.!!!!!!! I got the dilivery of this TV at the first day I moved into a new house But it is turn out to be a totally disaster!!!!! I paid 200 hundreds for the installation and I test it. But there is no image. What I gonna do with a broken TV!!!! I sent it back to Dutyfree store with the TV double boxed but they declined to refund my money. They even blame that was me who damage it.
