In the back of the book are the solutions.  Shows the different size blocks, color-coded and put together the way the finished product should look.  I recommend this game.  Some are very easy and some make you think.  Some actually can be done more than one way too.

Do you have to order the book separate, or does it come with the game so the kids know what to build?

I have pulled the game and attempted to get an answer to your question. I am offering a game that is still inside the original shrink wrap and therefore do not want to open it and alter the condition. There is no listing on the box to indicate exactly what is contained inside. There is however a small picture of what appears to be a book with a plastic comb binding. I would therefore feel that the book is enclosed. The box (and contents) weighs in excess of two pounds. On the back of the box there is this brief note: An exploratory journey of design and forms. Players aim at building 50 structures of escalating complexity. As players progress, they need to combine imagination and spatial logic to succeed. Offers solitary, group or free form creative play.

Architecto, like all the other titles in the Brain Builder Series, is an independent play set. It develops spacial logic skills by asking players to replicate images using a set of orange blocks (GeoBlocks). The great thing about the series is that once you've bought a complete game, you can simply purchase the booklet for the 3 other games (Equilibrio, Tangramino, Perspecto--formally Cliko) since all 4 games play with the same set of GeoBlocks!
