Approximately how many chestnuts are in 1 can?

The chestnuts are soft and mushy so they tend to stick together in a clump. I have never counted the number in a can since I usually dump the contents into a processor to liquefy them. I use them in a soup. They are about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. I estimate that there may be 12 to 15 in each can.

How are these cooked? Roasted? Boiled? Steamed?

Sort of roasted tasting, but soft bliled. I will not be ordering again.
