As described, more robust than anticipated
As described, if anything more robust than anticipated. Pretty pleased. I used 2 of these to create. Lifting storage rack in my garage.

Great kit with some mods required to make it even better
As you can see my garage is already cluttered so the only available solution was to store my roof pod on the ceiling. The kit itself is decent with the exception of the rope (5/16 or 8mm ) which other posters have mentioned. The strap seems pretty good in my opinion. I also bought an extra double pulley which I mounted in between the two supplied pulleys so I could mount the brake pulley clear of the pod (to allow for easy lowering as the rope needs to be vertical to release the brake). The rollers seem to be quite light duty plastic but I expected them not to be the best quality given the price point. I can always replace them if they fail. All in all a decent kit for the price with some minor modifications to make it better

Great value for the price, easy install
Great value for the money. I did not use the additional brackets as I wanted as much lift as possible. I used the main brackets and mounted them directly to the beams and tied off the rope ends to large washers to prevent them from possibly unraveling and coming though the bracket hole. Brackets fit snugly to my trusses where I drilled straight through them. Strapped in my 14ft tandem kayak without a problem. Takes a little elbow grease to lift it all the way up but it works wonderfully. For the price paid, I'm extremely happy with the quality.

Good product great customer service
I have this hoist and the less expensive bike hoist. I prefer this hoist, the hooks are sturdier and the straps make it easy to loop about whatever you are lifting. The box I received looked very roughed up but so were the other hoists I ordered, and they were fine. When i went to install there were missing parts (the rope and the cleat). I decided to contact the manufacturer, and they sent me a whole new kit. It's installed and I'm very happy with it. Install was simple enough. Only hiccup was that I needed to look up how to tie a proper knot on youtube
