Not at all what it looks like in the product photo. Hook is even with (curves same direction as handle not 90 degree difference as in product photo) not sure if it is an improvement as on the one I received (see my photo), if it was an improvement in design, the hook should have been oposite open end of handle, not same as when you put pressure on the hook as intended, the open ended part on the handle will open and may pinch a finger... man holes are not light... also, product recieved is blue instead of black.

I bought this specifically to fit in a suitcase for use at an overseas project and it was good in that aspect. However, after only 2 days of use the tip of the hook had already bent, making near worthless for opening manholes. The tip is flat and not reinforced, so this hook really should only be used for light duty work or in situations where prying is not needed. I wound up throwing it away at the end of the project.

After trying this on multiple covers I can say it will lift them with a little finesse. Some you will have to curl into the lift hole starting with the handle in the middle then outwards. Just catch the entire hole and it will not break. Also good for general yard work as lifting stepping stone and the such. It's a back saver.

Only lasted a month. The tip is too far to fit into any of the standard slots on vaults and manholes and the metal is too soft and bent at the tip after only a few uses. This is the worst hook I've ever used and will not be buying again. Save your money and get a good ine.
