We used this comfort kitty when we had foster kittens who were separated from their mumma and it was amazing for those first few days of being without mommy cat - really soothing for the littlest kitten who was very attached to his mom. It's now being used for a family member with dementia who is in palliative care - she LOVES cats and dogs but cannot have one with her - she's had calmeroo kitty with her now for a few weeks. This comfort kitty has really brought comfort to so many kitties and now hoomans it's well worth the investment.

Was very pleased to see the open documentation that this is a Canadian company and a Canadian product given the current state of tariff and trade war nonsense. Thank you very much for clearly disclosing that. Separate from enthusiastically ‘supporting local’ this item is everything that it claims to be. We had some recent household changes which noticeably altered the schedules that our three big cats are familiar with. Our cat herd can be broken down as follows: brothers that were rescued from a Prairie province during the pandemic who spent all of their time alone together until they were 16 weeks and the youngest (and biggest), a Maine coon. Whenever there is stress, the brothers go back to their original template: happy to hang out together. But the Maine coon is largely left to figure things out on his own. This purchase was made with him and in mind. None of the guys like the ‘new cat’ when his heartbeat is not audible. As long as his heartbeat is switched on, it seems very much as though he’s been invited as the fourth member of their collective. Everyone takes turns cuddling. It is very robustly made. Batteries came in the heartbeat generator and are locked away behind screws so they can’t accidentally be accessed and cause problems. While the Velcro that seals up the pocket compartment for the heat pack, and the heartbeat generator is hidden away from immediate cat observation it wasn’t a battle for me to find it and open it (I’ve lost a lot of sensation in my fingers and fumbling is both common and frustrating). The photo that I’ve included is of our Maine coon— he curls up to sleep with the new guy and is often seen to be curling closer and closer to the heartbeat generator. Outstanding. Thank you..

I am fostering kittens who came to me at 2 weeks old. I had them on a heating pad with a hot water bottle but the second I put this cat in, they curled up to it and finally looked relaxed. It is a great product and after 2 weeks the heartbeat is going strong and the hot packs are wonderful. I have replaced them every 3 days with hand warmer style packs which are easy to find. I love that the product is made in Canada, comes with batteries!!! and warmer packs. And it is washable, which is great with kittens who aren't litter trained yet. Highly recommended.

I initially got this because I had a single kitty (2 months old) by himself. I felt bad because he didn’t have anyone else so I got him this to cuddle. 2 months later I noticed that he didn’t really cuddle with it but mostly to bite and play with it (see video). I still think it’s serving its purpose to cure his boredom lol. He’s so cute with it and keeps going back to play with it multiple times a day. I have the heartbeat on most times but I feel like at this point it doesn’t matter as much lol. With all the tough play it’s still intact! No funny smells and I have it to my kitten right out of the box. The heartbeat feature might be a little gimmicky but he does really seem to love it and play with it a lot so I think its worth it/ to try. Batteries are included and it says that it can run for 2 weeks straight when turned on.

I NEVER write reviews, but I feel like I have to for this product in particular... Our vet had a litter of kittens brought to them the day they were born, with the guy saying that he believed the mother had been run over by a car. The vet found homes for all of the kittens, giving one to my wife and I. Having never raised a freshly born kitten, I had no idea what to do - so I scoured the internet trying to do my best to prevent this adorable little ball of fur from dying on us. Besides doing the obvious like keeping a heating pad near them, keeping the room at a certain temperature, and feeding him every two hours, I happened to read that the number one killer of kittens at that age is stress - especially when they have been separated from their mother before they can open their eyes. Scaring me into action, I found this product which seemed to solve all of our immediate issues, but I thought paying $40 for a product that may or may not help was a bit ridiculous and I was over thinking things. I ended up buying one and confessing to my wife, telling her "it'll either be the stupidest or the best thing I've ever bought." My cat snuggled with his kitty every day since and has become his favorite toy easily, and we often figure out where he slept the night before solely from where he had brought his Calmeroo. After he had grown into a massive and very healthy cat, we unfortunately learned from the vet that none of his siblings made it - with the only difference in care being that we bought one of these toys and they didn't. If you're on the fence and you think it's not worth it, I was there. Looking back after what I know now - I wouldn't hesitate to spend the money again, because as far as I'm concerned $40 is a small price to pay to save the life of the best cat I've ever had.
