OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Ice Cream Scoop, One Size

18 months on and going strong. I mean this thing is solid, so it should be! I’m a total oxo nerd. I’m one of those people that loves staying loyal to a brand when I know it’s worthy. OXO just make good quality home/kitchen utensils that work, really well and last. In terms of doing its job, spot on and as the name suggests… good grip! This thing should last a lifetime. I’m being sad reviewing all my oxo products I purchased 18 months ago!

Nice solid ice cream scoop. Previously had a Sabatier but the chrome started to come away. This is a little heavier but it scoops hard ice cream much easier and looks like it is built to last so 5 stars from me.

Best scoop for hard UK quality ice creams from your freezer. If you haven't used OXO good grips stuff before then you don't know what your missing, I've got loads of their stuff and everything and I mean everything I've got if theirs is just ace. Period.

Although ludicrously expensive - it's a &^%$ ice cream scoop for heaven's sake! - it is robust and the stainless steel blade will remain free of contaminants, unlike our old one that had a chrome cover over white metal (which may contain lead). Why does OXO believe something like this needs to be made in China when they're charging £18 for something that is bought in for a tiny fraction?

It is good quality, heavy with a rubberized grip but it isn't perfect. One side seems different from the other. I don't mind buying 2nd-grade items as long as the price reflects that.

Over the years, I have used various ice cream scoops which have ended up being thrown away. Faulty springs or peeling plating are typical faults. This OXO version has worked well during the past year. It's good and solid so there's really nothing to break. Highly recommended.
