Solid Quality and Variety at a Very Reasonable Price
I'm not an artist, but I wanted to try coloring with colored pencils. I did some research before buying these so I could tell (hopefully) if I got a good product. I'm comfortable giving these 5/5 stars considering the price. They have excellent color variety, they don't crumble too easily, and they arrived in good condition. The wood smells nice, and and I don't see obvious knots or rings, so there seems to be a reasonable attention to overall product quality, even though I can see a faint seam on some of the pencils. I think the resulting colors are a little too waxy for them to be truly professional quality, but even laying down color as heavily as seemed reasonable, the cores didn't crack or leave too much powder, and I could continue to blend the colors. They do not feel scratchy or chalky. For an inexpensive brand, I think they have an impressively good formula that will be more than sufficient for all but the most demanding artists who will need to invest in pencils that cost about $2 per pencil and up. Even for those artists, this is a very reasonable way to get a selection of colors for shades they rarely need. The colors seem true to the core and cover paper very consistently. Given my lack of skill, I was still able to achieve a nice clean result without too much streaking. Overall, I think these leave very little reason to purchase more commodity brands. If these aren't to your liking, you'll need to aim for a brand like Prismacolor (Premiere or better), Faber-Castell, or Caran dโAche, and prepare for a very steep increase in price per pencil.

My wife LOVES these pencils.
Sheโs tried several Kalour products and found them to be very good quality, so she wanted to try these as well. She said they go down every bit as well as her expensive pencils do, with little effort. The colors are vivid, they go down smoothly and they have a good amount of pigment. There were very few crumbs and no chipping. The metallic pencils have a very good amount of sparkle to them, which didnโt show up as well in the pictures as she was hoping for. The colors blend well and she was pleased with their opacity. Thereโs a good variety of colors, in the regular pencils as well as in the metallics. The names and numbers are marked clearly on the barrels in silver and they can all be read very easily. She did say that the plastic trays were a bit flimsy, but that was literally the only thing she found less than optimal about the set. They were packaged very securely, shrink-wrapped and placed in a thick plastic bag, then placed in a snug fitting box. The exposed leads were protected with foam sheeting. Every one arrived in perfect condition. Sheโs planning on color sorting these in with the rest of her soft core pencils. She said that she โreally, REALLY likes this setโ and that they are โpretty awesome!โ She also said she was surprised at how reasonable the price was.

Prismacolor dupe at budget price
Arrived quickly and the quality was great for the price. It's well packaged in bubble wrap and cardboard box for shipping. The pencils themselves are neatly stacked inside a tin container. Personally, I love the softcore and blend ability of Prismacolor, but didn't want to spend that amount of cash at this time. Upon looking for alternative softcore coloring pencils, I came across KALOUR. The amount of pencils (180pcs) and the price point ($37+tax) were very good. Upon using them to color in the provided color key, I did notice the core was soft, but not as much as a Prismacolor. So the smearing was almost non-existent but the color payoff was spectacular for the price-point. I did notice some colors were a bit streaky. Most noticeably the metallic, which is to be expected. They do come pre-sharpened to a flat tip. In order to reduce streakiness, make sure to file it or round out the tip on a separate piece of paper. While in use, I did vary the pressure and I can attest that the tips do not break easily under high pressure, but still apply the true color when less pressure is used. Overall, I decided to give this set 5 stars due to the quality at this particular price-point. I feel that this would be an amazing set for beginner artists on a budget or simple everyday coloring as the variety is very desirable. Every color is distinct so there's no worry of repeat colors that is typical for this price-point in artist supplies.

Great buy!
Love love love these pencils! Much better than crayola. Wish they were open stock bc my purples are almost too short to hold already lol. Great color range, smooth, donโt break much at all. Blending comes out nice and smooth. Will buy again.

Great quality pencils for the cost
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these pencils. While they aren't as buttery smooth as Prismacolor colored pencilsโwhich is understandable given the price differenceโthey still perform very well. Iโd classify them as student-grade, but more suitable for art students than young children. They lay down color smoothly, blend nicely, and have a vibrant appearance, though they may lack the high pigment load of more expensive, professional-grade pencils. The color selection is solid, with a good variety and minimal overlap between shades. My set arrived in perfect conditionโno broken tips or misplaced pencils. It also includes a swatch card, which is very helpful since the barrel color doesnโt always match the actual pencil color on paper. I appreciate that each pencil is labeled with both a name and number, making it easy to reference your swatch chart and find the exact pencil you need. Overall, the value for the price is excellentโthese are great quality pencils for the cost!

Good, soft, blendible colors
I want to write a review of these colored pencils because I wasn't sure if I'd like them because of the price. they are considerably less expensive than the higher quality pencils (Brutfuner and prismacolor), but what I have found while coloring with them is that they're soft enough to have a good rich color and I can use them for heavy color or light color. Also they blend well. Now be sure, I am a cadual colorist. I color because I enjoy it. If you want a good set of colors for a goof price, condifr thr Kalour prnvild.

Great set to start your adult coloring journey with!
I'm 100% new to the world of adult coloring and bought these pencils on a whim after wanting a large set without breaking the bank. I've included a picture of the first project I completed using only the pencils from this set. I believe it's possible to render realistic skin tones with the shades included in this set if you have an eye for undertones and midtones of the skin and whatnot. I had this set shipped internationally right at the start of the year. They arrived in perfect condition. The tin is quite sturdy. I accidently stepped on the lid and dented it and still have had no issues with it. So far, I absolutely adore these color pencils. They're quite intuitive and perfect for beginners. With very minimal practice you learn what type of pressure gets you your desired result. These pencils blend beautifully without any solvents or aids. They're placed in the tin in blending order while the swatch card has them in numerical order. I find that if I sharpen them into a fine tip they can still blend over a section with wax bloom without destroying the tooth of the paper while actually showing up. They also leave minimal debris. The cores are actually very break-resistant. I use a T'gaal sharpener on them to reach an extremely fine point and only the very tip snaps off when I don't use a slightly softer hand. When I used a harder pressure for burnishing, I still didn't experience any breakage. This alone has made me reconsider purchasing a colorless blender or burnisher as I don't think I need them with this formula. If you want to blend and practice different techniques you will have to sharpen them a bit which will wear them down a bit quicker, especially for larger spaces (naturally), but I like that aspect. I don't want to hold onto to a set of supplies forever because I like to try new things. And I can always try out a more expensive brand by purchasing each pencil one by one to replace whichever one from this set I've used up first. However, I think it's very likely I might just buy from this brand again as I've thoroughly enjoyed this set compared to other more expensive brands such as the Irojitens. These pencils layer beautifully over alcohol based markers and help enhance the blend. They're also comfortable to grip and hold. I've colored with them for over 4 hours in a single sitting and not once has my hand ever cramped up. (Keep in mind, I don't have any hand related hindrances). I honestly have nothing negative to say about these pencils I'm so happy I found this brand among others. I'm so pleased I'm actually interested in checking out their watercolor and oil based pencils. This set has propelled my confidence in starting a journey to color realism, whimsy, and everything in between.

Very surprised with these pencils - soft and vibrant
I was pleasantly surprised with these pencils. They were smooth, not as buttery as Prismacolor colored pencils, but hey there is a reason for the price of those pencils. These I would say are student grade colored pencils, and by student I mean art student, not elementary kid. They are GOOD pencils, they lay color down smoothly and can be blended and they appear vibrant, but look like they lack the pigment that more expensive artist grade colored pencils have. There is a good variety of colors without too much of a similarity between them. My package arrived perfectly without a pencil out of place or even a tip broken. They include a swatch card and you should color that in so you can see what the colors look like on paper because the pencil paint is not going to exactly match. It's great that each pencil is named and has a number so you can look at your swatch card to choose you color and then just grab the matching pencil. I also love the price, an excellent value for what you get!

Kalour
The whole shipping process should be handled with more care as so many pencil got broken and itโs so frustrating when all you do is sharpen the pencils and you canโt use them to their full potential. The color range is great but doesnโt make up for the broken pencils
