I ordered distress oxide and received distress ink. is there a difference??

Yes, there is a difference. The regular Distress Inks produce brighter, more vibrant colors, whereas Distress Oxide Inks are very creamy and have a softer, almost chalky, finish to them. They are much easier to blend than the original distress inks, and they produce a different effect when interacting with water. Unlike the regular distress inks, you can create layers of color with the Distress Oxide Inks. You just need to heat-set or air-dry each layer completely before applying the next one.

Are the distress oxide ink pads made in the mini size like the distress ink?

Tim has said that for the foreseeable future, the Oxides won't be available in mini pad form, as the chemists cannot make the product stay stable in the small pads.

Are these inks archival or fade resistant?

Hello. I don't actually know the answer, but I will share my two cents with you! I would presume these are water based not alcohol based. I would not use these for more important projects but for your own enjoyment. I just applied some to cheap paper, and it got watered down pretty quick! So no, absolutely not, they won't function as you desire.
