Is it normal for this charger to get hot?

I have owned 6 of them for quite a few years now, using them on all of my outdoor equipment during the off-season. They are only slightly warm to the touch but never have I noticed them being Hot. Not knowing just how hot your gets, I would refer your concern to the manufacturer or if new enough, return it to Amazon as defective.

Using on batteries that are half depleted. Light is green, but flashing red consistently. Is that a normal status light or do I have a dud?

I am color blind but I think when the light is flashing it is charging

Will this charge a marine battery 12v 36ah properly?

Less expensive type but have had good luck with this type on different size/types of batteries at the farm on different machines.

Charge 12V battery overnight. Indicator was still red, removed and tested at 13.7V. I thought it should be green. What does this mean? Bad Battery?

The battery is good if 1) it holds 13.7V for a week after charging overnight and 2) it stays above 12V when discharged at a rate that will reach its amp-hour rating in 24 hours. Sorry, I don't know how to interpret the charger indicator lamp. Amazon should require the seller to provide better instructions.
