How well do these stickers stand up to actual playing in general?

Once they are on the guitar, it is the same as if they were not there. They do not interfere with your playing in any way. They will not slip and you can remove them at any time. They leave no residue and do not mar the finish. I hope this helps!

Would this product be able to work on my Taylor GS mini which is a short 23.5" scale length?

I put this on a classical guitar it 18 frets I had to leave off a portion of the bottom but it turned out real nice. I looked at the Taylor GS mini and I think it would work good . it was so easy to instill as well I'm very happy with this

Would this work on my mandolin?

These are set up for guitars with 22 frets. If your mandolin has the same spacing at the 12th fret, they will work. But in reality they will not. If you are determined you can cut them to fit your instrument. You never know!!
