Solid choice for a quality wool base layer. If you have a longer torso, get the mens version
I like to put wool gear to the test, wearing it for a week straight (washing if need be, at night, and letting it air dry overnight). I'm impressed at week one of wearing top and bottom under clothes. I've been warm, not hot, and although these fit closely, they are not snug. It's felt a bit like having my skin lightly massaged all day. Elbows (and knees in the matching bottoms) do show some stretching with multiple wears. I have both hand washed and machine washed on gentle cycle, tumble dry extra low. I think there will be some pilling in the future, but all in all, this feels like a solid base layer choice for multiple climates. I'm 5'2, 127lbs, medium boned with an athletic build. My husband is 5'8, 135lbs, small boned with an athletic build. The small women's fit me perfectly. The sleeves would come down a bit over my hands except for the weird cord like cuff- it would be exactly perfect with thumb holes. The shirt is close, not tight, and comes down to about mid hip, which is perfect for tucking in. The small men's fit me nearly perfectly - it was a little bit bigger, but not much, the main difference was that the mens version had a longer torso, which comes down over my bum. The mens small was a bit too tight on my husband and the sleeves were too short. The mens version also has soft, full cuffs. The women's version has almost like a cord around the end of the sleeves. Not a deal breaker, but I do find it irritating. Zoom in on the listing pics to see cuffs. Pros: Good quality Doesn't hold smells Temperature regulating Very soft - I've got super sensitive skin and this doesn't itch. The price is excellent Cons If you are tall, I'd suggest going for the mens version. This is perfect on someone short, like me. No thumb holes - I might even take it to a tailor to have thumb holes put in, as the cord makes it a bit uncomfortable to pull down over my hands. The cord like ending to the sleeves is annoying, I considered taking a star off for it, but the price and quality overall are so good that it didn't seem quite fair - more of a 1/2 star. I love that they sent a free pair of merino socks with each order (I ordered multiples for my husband and myself). The socks were much too big for me, but my husband was happy to restock his merino sock collection for free. (I'm a 6.5 - 7 shoe size, they were more appropriate for my husband's 10.5 shoe size) If I could give half stars, this would be 4.5 stars. It's a solid choice for someone transitioning to wool base layers. Honestly, the quality feels better than a lot of Smart Wool layers I've had, and it's softer.

True to size, came with free socks!
This is a great, basic merino base layer that's perfect for my winter running in the Pacific Northwest. It doesn't make me feel obnoxiously hot even once I've racked up a couple miles (unlike my thicker or down layers, which I typically have to shed). Going by the size chart, I thought I might need to size up to a large, but Amazon recommended I go with my normal size medium, and I'm glad I did. I don't like oversized running stuff, and I hate when the shoulder and armpit seams are too large. For reference, I'm 5'9" tall, 158 pounds, athletic build, and the medium is great, with more than generous length in the arms and torso. Truthfully I would prefer a little bit less length in the torso, but I like things that hit just above my hips; after reading lots of reviews I've gathered that most women like things longer, so this longer length is likely better for most. This is what I would call a midweight layer, thin but not overly so, not something I would call ungenerous. It's exactly the right weight for the heat/insulation level advertised, and the temperatures I'm in right now (40s). I think it will also do well in the 30s. If it gets into the 20s, I think you might need to add a vest unless you're running very hard/hot. Included in the package was a pair of sweet thick wool socks. Love that unexpected bonus item! Just wish the socks were smaller; despite accompanying an order for a women's medium , the socks were large on my size 9.5 women's feet. Don't mean to be ungrateful, but dang! Matching the likely sock size range to the top size would be aces. Can't complain though, super happy with the fit and quality.

Soft, fits well very pleased
Just returned from the Scottish highlands where the temps were not above 58-60F and it was spitting rain almost everyday. I am always cold so I purchased this shirt to wear as a layer under my raincoat. I was never cold, in fact, I did get too warm and wore just the shirt with the sleeves pushed up. We did a lot of hiking however so I was moving. Had we been just walking around and not hiking, I think the combo could have been perfect. I am going to order a short sleeve one now but I figured Scotland would be cold and it was but the hiking was also intense. I am also VERY happy with the free socks that come with this shirt. I love them. They are thick and warm without being too warm and my goodness are they soft and not at all itchy. Highly recommended!

A staple item worth the cost
I originally purchased this as a base layer for a trip to Iceland. While we were there, I wore it under a Uniqlo vest for sightseeing and hiking. I have continued to wear it ever since. I bought the 250-weight shirt in charcoal in a size large. It is soft, not itchy. It fits close enough to my body to be easy to layer, but not so close or clingy that I feel self-conscious wearing it on its own. Wool is nice because it is quick-drying, doesn't trap body odor, and is breathable, making it never too hot or too cold. I was mistakenly sent a black 165-weight shirt along with the charcoal one in the same size. The lighter-weight shirt is less opaque, but it works well under other items. Overall, this was one of my best Amazon travel purchases. The socks were a nice bonus!

Great deal,
Excellent deal, with a shirt and a pair of socks! Comfortable and warm. Only have it 4 stars as it’s very fitted for my usual size (medium) though I know for warmth it should be fitted. Just feels like it runs a bit small.

Excellent!
I never knew I needed this. I now know I was missing out! A recent trip to a cool climate necessitated the purchase. I am 5‘10“ tall and weigh 133 pounds. This shirt in a medium was the perfect size. It wasn’t bulky and allowed me to layer as needed. Combined with a sweat wicking sports bra, I stayed dry on my hikes every day! It’s very soft and not itchy in any way. I didn’t feel uncomfortable wearing this shirt into a restaurant/brewery after the hike was over either because it looks great. In order to keep this merino wool base layer in good shape and functioning properly, I put it in the washing machine on the gentle cycle and allowed it to air dry. I have neither the time no patience for handwashing. This long sleeved shirt was fairly expensive but a good sound purchase because it functions as it’s supposed to. I plan to take good care of it. This is a win!

Save your money!
Save your money til you can buy an Icebreaker brand. This 250 merino wool was just ok. It ran big and was a bit sloppy. It was more sweater-like than Icebreaker and looked less stylish. Sleeves are way too long and there are lots of scratchy tags to cut off. Now I have no laundry instructions! They were about 4 or 5 inches too long because they covered all the major languages and were scratchy on your side underarm. Why buy supposedly soft merino wool when the tags bug you all day long? I have a long torso and long arms (5’11”) and this top was way too long for me. I guess I’ll keep it but it will have to go underneath for a base layer. I did like the color — navy but that’s it!

Great layering shirt
This merino undergarment is a quality item. It is thin and comfortable to wear. I bought to wear for layering during a trip to Alaska. It worked perfectly. It washes well and holds its shape. The fabric is soft and fit was accurate

La camiseta normalita, talla M; los calcetines talla 50, para tirar
La camiseta normalita talla M pero los calcetines talla 45-50, para tirar. Era para un regalo pero tendré que gastarme 20 euros más en unos calcetines. Es una mala oferta.

Little holes appeared after one wearing
It's a lovely color and very soft, but I wore it once - with yoga pants, so no zipper, and yet three small holes appeared after the first time I wore it. I wrote to the sellers and didn't get a response. The guaranty doesn't cover normal wear and tear. Holes after one day does not seem normal to me.
