Q: Hi, I just ordered a shurflo 4008 pump and wondered how this would be installed in conjunction with the pump? does the water go into this unit first ?

It is a Pre charged Expansion tank, it can be located after the pump' any where in the water system. It has a drawdown of 8-10oz.. On my RV trailer.

Q: what is the maximum pressure?

All are guessing at operating function. 1st item is a accurate guage to measure/record pump on and off pressures. After installing accumulator, fill system up and flush air from lines. Turn on pump and recheck/record on/off pressures. Set pressure on new accumulator to 2 psi below the turn on of the pump. Check 2 or 3 times by open faucets. 2 psi below the pump cut in pressure. This is the correct procedure setting for any pressure accumulator with a bladder.

Q: Will this work with a seaflow 12v 4.3lpm water pump?

My boat is plumbed with braided hose. My favorite fresh water piping is PEX, but I am not planning to change at this point. The pump is a 4.5GPM 12V serving a total of four sink fixtures plus two heads and a shower. Hope this helps.
