Q: I'm interested in the 7" splitshot version but am confused as to what the difference is between the 7xss & the 7ss. what does the "x" mean ??

HOOK Reveal 7 includes a preloaded, high-resolution US Inland map, including 1-foot contours on 4,000 lakes. The HOOK 7x is a non-mapping GPS plotter that allows you to save/navigate to waypoints, routes and trails, but has no mapping, only a white background. Hope this helps.

Q: Can the screen be removed for security

Q: can transducer be mounted in hull ?

Yes just attach with silicone and it will shoot thru the hull

Q: Can this transducer be mounted on the trolling motor??

Are you sure that the transducer can be mounted to a trolling motor with what comes in the box besides the clamp? Is that for the split shot transducer or the triple shot? Or both?
