This defies the old tradition of high sugar content.
No added sugar and you would never miss it. The natural sweet cherries holds the flavor profile right on target. I make home made pies using gram cracker crust which does have some sugar. I just use one can per pie and supplement it with additional fresh blueberries, ground walnuts, whole pecans & pine nuts, almond flour, and cinnamon. Who needs the extra added sugar in America? Diabetic guests at your table will feel extra welcomed with this health conscious treat. This lowers the calorie / sugar count and makes room for high quality craft IPA beers and wine.

Makes for a great cake
Perfect for making a cherry chip cake. Short on cherries for a pie. About 50% cherries, the rest is gel. All ingredients except eggs I got on Amazon. 1 box moist white cake mix, 1 can Duncan Hines Cherry pie filling, 3 eggs, ( you can use chocolate or yellow cake mix also). Put in a mixing bowl and stir until well incorporated. Optional add 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips. Grease a 13x9 cake pan and spread batter in. Bake 350 degrees for 28-30 minutes, when toothpick comes out clean, do not over bake. Cool and frost with icing of your choice. I used the cream cheese icing or you can use a chocolate. Or make your own. I like keeping it simple using canned icing. Quick and easy and less fat. Enjoy!
