Ich habe die Halterung jetzt einige Wochen in Betrieb und war damit auch schon längere Strecken unterwegs. Neben kleineren Mängeln ist die Halterung absolut in Ordnung und für den Preis wird man vermutlich auch nichts besseres finden. Ich verwende die Halterung für ein Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE. Die unteren beiden Auflagewinkel werden in die ausziehbare Schiene eingesteckt, die durch Federn im inneren unter Zug gehalten wird. Dadurch kann das Tablet auch einhändig problemlos eingesetzt und entfernt werden. Der Zug der Federn reicht problemlos aus, um das Tablet auch auf holprigen und kurvigen Straßen sicher festzuhalten. Auch bei dem einen oder anderen (leider notwendigen) Bremsmanöver konnte die Halterung überzeugen. Bei meinem Tablet mit relativ geringer Größe für ein 10-Zoll Tablet wird die Federschiene nur ca. 1cm ausgelenkt. Viel kleiner sollte das Tablet also nicht sein. 7"-Tablets müssten demnach hochkant eingesetzt werden, um festen Halt zu ermöglichen. Die Schiene lässt sich um weitere 4-5 cm ausziehen, sodass auch Tablets mit größeren Außenmaßen problemlos eingesetzt werden können. Es handelt sich bei dem Schwenkarm nicht um einen Schwanenhals, sondern um eine solide Alustange, die biegbar ist. Bei häufigem Verändern der Position könnte sie in Mitleidenschaft gezogen werden und brechen. Da ich die Halterung jetzt allerdings so eingestellt habe, wie es mir angenehm ist (also nicht beim Fahren behindert (Gangschaltung) und auch den Beifahrer nicht merklich einschränkt) werde ich künftig nicht daran herummanipulieren müssen, sodass ich kein Problem damit habe, dass es kein Schwanenhals ist. Vermutlich ist die Stange auch stabiler als ein Schwanenhals und lässt sich nicht so leicht in der Position verändern, sodass eine einmal gefundene Wunschposition, nicht durch versehentliches dagegenstoßen wieder verstellt wird. Die Gabel, die an der Sitzschiene montiert wird, ist für meinen Touran leider etwas kurz, hält aber dennoch seit Einbau problemlos. Man sollte sich vergewissern, dass man ein passendes Werkzeug zum lösen der Schraube in der Sitzschiene besitzt. Beim Touran ist dazu eine Vielkant-Stecknuss notwendig, die ich erst noch zusätzlich besorgen musste. Ist natürlich Fahrzeugabhängig und hat nichts direkt mit dem Produkt zu tun und soll daher auch nur am Rande erwähnt sein :) Auf der Hinterseite der Halterungsplatte befindet sich eine große Plastikschraube, mit der sich die Platte feststellen und lösen lässt, um das Tablet drehen zu können. Eine leicht offene Schraube erlaubt sicheres problemloses Drehen des Tablets, ohne ständig auf- und zudrehen zu müssen. Während der Fahrt sollte man selbstverständlich nicht aufs Tablet schauen, aber da ich mit meinem Tablet auch telefonieren kann, fungiert die Platte mit dem Tablet in Kombination mit einem Headset als Freisprechtelefon. Auch wenn man via Sprachwahl wählt möchte man natürlich einen Kontrollblick auf das Tablet werfen, ob die Sprachwahl auch den richtigen Kontakt anruft, bzw. die richtige Nummer des Kontaktes ausgewählt wurde. Hier sei bemerkt, dass während der Fahrt aufgrund der länge der Stange das Tablet (natürlich abhängig von Straßenqualität und Fahrstil) recht stark schwanken kann und damit kleinere Schriften nicht mehr so einfach lesbar sind. Ein Festhalten der kompletten Konstruktion kann hier notwendig werden, um mit einem kurzen Blick die notwendigen Informationen auch ablesen zu können. Von einer derart angebrachten Konstruktion kann man allerdings sicher nichts anderes erwarten, daher sollte dies nicht zu einem Abzug führen. Als Kontra muss ich die Verpackung erwähnen, die dazu geführt hat, dass der Schaumstoff auf der Platte eingedrückt wurde und nun eine irreparable "Beule" hat, die nicht schön aussieht, wenn kein Tablet eingesetzt ist. Die Montageschrauben hatten in der engen Verpackung wohl dagegen gedrückt. Ich hatte überlegt, das Teil deshalb zurückzuschicken, fand dies allerdings ein wenig übertrieben. Zudem ist die Halterung ja deshalb montiert, um ein Tablet zu halten, und nicht um leer im Auto zu stehen, daher sehe ich den kleinen Schönheitsfehler auch nicht. Ein weiteres Kontra, das mich persönlich jetzt nicht betrifft, aber für andere Käufer interessant sein könnte, ist die etwas kurze Stange. Ich habe wie bereits erwähnt einen Touran und habe auch Sitzschubladen unter den Vordersitzen. Deshalb ist die Sitzschiene für die Vordersitze etwas höher angebracht (ca. 10-12cm überm Boden) wodurch die Stange recht gut ausreicht. Bei ähnlich hohen Fahrzeugen, bei denen die Sitzschiene auf dem Boden des Fahrzeugs montiert ist, könnte die Stange etwas zu kurz sein, um eine komfortable Höhe des Tablets zu erreichen. Rundum ist die Halterung allerdings absolut in Ordnung, deshalb auch von mir 5 Sterne.

First off, I've read nearly all of the reviews about this on here. Second, this is my first Arkon product, so I have no bias to the company. This table mount is very easy to install, and there are many installation options to choose from. There is a floor mount plate, if you want a more "rigid" mount, that takes only seconds (and a screwdriver) to swap out. I chose to just loosen my seat rail bolt, slide this into place, and tighten it down. Nice and snug, and no wiggle room. The "flexible" arm is more rigid than I was expecting, which in itself is a huge plus. I didn't want to be driving down the road and have the tablet "sink" requiring constant adjustment, and it doesn't. Once you get it into position, it stays. The only "con" if you can even call it that, is that the tablet does shake a bit when traveling down the road, but why wouldn't it? It's not hard mounted onto anything, and there's only one point of contact (let's be real) supporting the tablet. The "finger" sets they send with the unit allow me to use this with my Galaxy Tab 2 (Both 10" and 7"). Once you get the fingers installed and go to insert the tablet, the mount expands to accomodate, and the tablet is held FIRMLY in place using spring pressure. All-in-all, I don't have much to say along the lines of "new persective", but as a unit, I'm very pleased with this purchase. I would recommend this over any other mount. Sure, you could go for a RAM mount, but why would you want to remove your center fascia to install a bracket? This setup allows for a much speedier installation and removal should you want to switch vehicles. As a side note, being able to remove the mount instead of popping the tablet into and out of the fingers is a big plus for me. I can pull the tablet and mount off (together) by depressing a tab on the back. I just think it's easier to pop the whole thing off, take it into work with me, and at the end of the day, slide (and lock) the mount back in place and off I go...

Hard to find somewhere in the car to attach it, we ended up drilling a hole through the floor on the passenger side. But once it was installed, it worked brilliantly! Very little vibration is transferred to the iPad when it is mounted, and it is very flexible for something so sturdy. In the end I ended up removing it because I found in the car I had it was in the way for the passenger, but I think that is down to the car and where you mount it. It fits my iPad 3 beautifully, and comes with 3 mounting 'fingers' for top, and 3 for bottom, so there is no chance of the iPad slipping off. I still have it, and might install on future cars.
