Absolutely strong and stable for rinsing sushi rice or any other product. I like this model because I can spray the rice in the strainer as I gently roll the water over it, rinsing all the debris and excess starch out of it. I then let it sit in the strainer for a bit as I ready the steamer. Great handle, very strong and super sturdy! First one i received the handle wasn't welded on the strainer . This was a manufactured issue. The carton that it shipped in was pertect. Just received the replacement part. Great product.

Gave one of these to my mom for Mother’s Day’s, and she really seemed to like it. It’s a little shallower than any of us are used to, but it also has a wider diameter and a little finer mesh. Despite how flimsy the handle looks, the fact that it’s metal makes it far less likely to melt than the plastic handle on her last strainer. It works really great for straining pasta, if you don’t have room to justify keeping a giant metal colander around the house. The mesh is fine enough that you could use it for pre-washing rice, or pressing boiled potatoes through for things like mashed potatoes or lefse (though we haven’t had occasion yet to test how sturdy the mesh is).

Been using this for quite a while, and it is still like new. It does what it is designed for. I use it multiple times a week for baking, using it for sifting, and also for cooking, using it for draining, and some other tasks also. I have nothing bad to say about it. It is very sturdy and seems well-made.

This is the perfect size to strain out all of the bones and veggies when making chicken bone broth. It made the process so much easier.
