UPDATE: I know this isnโt a huge deal but the watch is fast a couple of seconds. Iโve had it less than a month and itโs not at the same level of my other Citizen. Not enough to return the watch but still a little annoying. This is my second watch by Citizen, my first being a Promaster Diver. I love this watch for a variety of reasons. First of all, I love the Eco-drive feature as I will never have to worry about my watch dying on me and changing batteries. It came uncharged right out of the box but started up within seconds (it did the 2-second tick). The watch itself is very nice looking and is not flashy. I like the black finish on the case and the matching finish on the buckle. Something else that I really liked was the tan (beige?) numbers and markings. It really gave it a vintage feel in my opinion. As for the strap, I read a lot of people were having issues with it being short. It fits my wrist with two holes left over so it fits but I wish it was a little longer so I could put the extra band through the loops. I am not a huge fan of canvas but this one feels nice and isn't itchy. The band is a bit stiff but I'm hoping it will soften up as it gets worn. Since the numbers aren't flush to the rim of the case (there is a bezel), the watch wears smaller than 43mm. I appreciate this as I was worried that it would look oversized on my wrist. Additionally, some people mentioned that the second hand wasn't lining up correctly with the markings. I didn't have this issue at all. A leaflet came in the box telling me how to register it and how to set the time/date. Overall, I would highly recommend this watch. I got this watch for $140 in April 2020.

You can't go wrong with this watch. I picked it up on sale for $139.99. For that price, it's hard to complain about anything really... But I'll say the good and bad below. The fit and finish of the watch is great. The hands and numbers are big and very easy to read. The small dials also display very useful info and are well laid out. The watch is sharp looking and is just the right size. The SS bezel adds durability. The band - just go ahead and order a replacement ahead of time. Note that this watch takes a 20mm, not 19mm. The band looks kinda cool, but is too tacticool IMO. It's also a bit scratchy and is difficult to take on and off. For $20, the Barton Silicone bands are hard to beat. I went with smoke grey. My only other complaint are the glowing hands. Owning a Luminox in the past, I was hoping they'd be a bit brighter. They get the job done, but if the room isn't completely black, you'll have trouble seeing the hands glow. They also seem to glow brighter when the watch is fully charged from some sunlight. Not a deal breaker, but you're not going to grt Luminox brightness in the dark. All in all, great watch for the money. I'll update back if I have issues.

Very nice watch, stylish and a good price. I would have gave it 5 stars but the band is ridiculously short. That's ok, I ordered a NATO style band for it.

I purchased this watch back in 2020, but did not wear it much, mostly because I did not like the canvas band it came with. So the watch just lay there, until one day I noticed it again on Amazon, so I put it back on, but again that band. I was reading a review of a watch, maybe this one, and the writer had switched his band, and found love again with his watch. I ordered a new Barton silicone band, after reading reviews of Barton products, and never looked back. I wear this watch every day, heck I sleep in with it on. Its a bit hefty, but that lets you know its quality old school, with big analog hands. I can tell you its durable, water proof for me so far, and large enough to see, My one drawback would be that I wish the hands were more luminous and visible at night or in the dark. Love no batteries to replace.

My TAG Heuer Formula One stopped working. I'll get it fixed one day but for now, I bought this Citizen Eco-Drive Weekender Garrison Field Watch. - It has a mineral crystal rather than sapphire. I would rather have a sapphire for the price I paid, but it looks nice nonetheless. TAG = Sapphire - Dial: Being 64 years old, I appreciate the visible numbers 1-12, light tan in color, and they glow. The combination gives them a soft green effect that ties in well with the olive green band. The three sub-dials: day of the week on the left, military time in the middle, and date on the right, are small but have a vintage personality like an older sports car without digital gauges. Before I bought the watch, I resigned myself to not using the sub-dials. I thought I would never be able to see them. Not true. In the daylight, I see them fine with a little effort. Even if you can't see them, they add a nice touch to the dial's appearance. My TAG was harder to read (numbers only at 12, 3, 6, and 9) and the hands didn't glow enough to be useful for me at night. The stopwatch hand also stopped lining up correctly and hung out between the one and the two. - The case has a black coating some might feel cheaper, but I think it is in perfect style with the theme of the watch. The case is a bit thick and chunky, also in perfect theme with the style. My TAG didn't appear any more luxurious with its black coating. The chunkiness is also similar. Although I do not purposely get my watches wet, I like that I can with this watch. - The crown is a simple pull-out up to two clicks for setting. I pulled the crown out two clicks when the second hand reached 12 which stops the watch. Then I turned the crown clockwise to set the day of the week (left sub-dial) followed by the time, which I synced up with my iPad clock to the second by pushing the crown back in to start it again. Lastly, I pulled the crown out one click and rotated it counterclockwise to set the date. Tip; watch the military sub-dial in the middle to determine AM and PM. My TAG was no easier or more difficult to set. - The band is a sharp-looking olive green. I believe the replacement is 20mm. It fits on my wrist in the third hole without any annoying excess. I am an average 6โ tall and 185 pounds. I like canvas bands and expect to enjoy this one for several months. My TAG came with a rubber band and a high replacement cost which cracked and broke in the first six months. - The Citizen uses a quartz movement that is powered by a battery charged by light. I placed this watch in the sun for 11 hours to fully charge it, then I set it, and now I can forget it. I never need to change another battery and I hear this watch will run for ten plus years. After three days it has kept perfect time. My TAG, uses a battery that needs changing. All you do is get a case wrench, twist the back off, and replace the battery. It's super easy aside from the microscopic screw and arm that secures the battery in place. It's a pain in the ass and unnecessary to leave in place. I took it off, taped it to my watch tool case, and never looked back. I'm sure TAG would love for you to send the watch in to replace a dollar battery for $100.00 + dollars. All BS if you ask me. Price: I am a former retail jewelry store manager. I think this watch is a great value at $150.00. I paid too much at about $260 but I needed a watch so I got it. My TAG, which is a limited edition, cost me about $1500.00. I would bet a paycheck the TAG will cost more to repair than the price of this new Citizen. Conclusion: Assuming my new Citizen runs for ten years, I love it more than my TAG. It makes me smile like I got away with something.
