I want to know if the cut door in the pad on the bottom is for making an adjustment on the snare wires or just what is for?

Not sure what "cut door" you're referring to. Did you remove the pad on the bottom? The snares on the inside of the travel cajon are not adjustable. The long rectangular hole on the side is the sound hole to allow sound pass through from the inside. Is this the "cut door" you are referring to? Hope this helps. It' s a fun travel cajon! I've enjoyed it for several years and have taken it camping, road trips, travel... stood the test of travel. Recommend getting a case for it.

The pics show no screws on top surface but videos show it with screws. Please clarify.

Just got mine today on 1/10/2018. It has no screws. Disappointed with that since there is no way to make any snare adjustments.

I am wondering how this sounds with regular wire brushes, broom sticks, Talawands or hot rods...has anyone on here tried it?

It might sound good with regular wooden drum sticks. Otherwise, I don't know.

My cajon has a little hole on the bottom, which can be left open or closed with an adhesive tab. What is it for? Should I close it?

Not sure as mine does not have a hole in the bottom.there is a soft pad on the bottom but unless I undo it it does not appear to have a hole. Maybe check with Meinl. I would be interested to know the outcome RegardsGerry
