I also wanted to vouch that yes, this is indeed a valid replacement for the 28000-0100. I had the 28000-0100 and this 9740420 model worked beautifully as a seamless replacement. Just make sure you keep the bolt hanger plate with the 4 screws and the silver screw that hangs off the white nose, as these two parts are not included with this replacement part.
