Makes Yard Work Easier
Working in my yard is not only easier but less painful with these gloves. I like the fact that they are thorn resistant and are long enough to protect my arms not only from thorns but from insect bites as well! In addition, the sunโs burning rays are unsuccessful at doing damage to my forearms. They say for โmenโ but theyโre comfortable enough for women too. My only concern is that they look so nice that Iโm afraid Iโll get them dirty! ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ

great protection
these work really well, did not let thorns from wild blackberry vines through and stayed in place over my forearms. great product!

Protective without being too stiff.
They are not thorn proof but thorn resistant. That makes them breathable and flexible enough to help in pruning. The cuffs are long enough to let you get into the body of the rose without drawing blood. So, good to have.

Not puncture proof, but good for going to battle with blackberries
I live in the Seattle area where blackberries are the bane of my existence. I bought these gloves to protect myself from the insanely sharp blackberry thorns and to cover my wrists as well. They are are not puncture proof, but I donโt know anything that can prevent the needle like thorns of a blackberry from puncturing it. They do a good job though and I would recommend for anyone going to war with blackberries or similar thorny nuisances.

Pruning gloves
Fit was perfect (L) for my hands and forearm length. No heavy duty pruning yet, but great so far, offers good protection.

COOLJOB-the garden glove that lives up to its name
This is my second time buying this specific CoolJob glove. The first pair lasted 3 years and normal wear over some of the finger sleeves on glove wore out due to use. I love the ease of washing them when I am done and the fit is true to "your glove size". I recently replaced the gloves with these and I was able to clean by flower beds of Agave plants gone crazy from a previous home owner when loved them.

Pros and Cons
I bought these for pruning palms, which have thorns like sewing needles. Protection is needed particularly when having to reach between the multiple trunks of pygmy date palms. My previous, similar pair of gauntlet-style pruning gloves worked well for that purpose, but they needed replaced and identical new ones are no longer available. Pros of these gloves - they provide some protection and prevent most (but not all) thorns from getting through. I would not call them "heavy duty" as stated in the listing, more so light or medium duty. I have large hands and sometimes have trouble finding gloves that fit, but the XL size of these gloves fits well, at least the hand part of the glove. The forearm protector? Not so much. Which brings us to the con - the forearm protection part of the gloves is far too short and tight for XL size gloves, as if the upper half of much smaller gloves was sewn onto an XL pair. I looked again at the listing, and about halfway down the page it shows the dimensions of the gloves including the forearm protectors. Oddly enough, it shows that the forearm guard on the XL gloves is actually smaller than on the "L - Pro" size (there is no "L - Pro" listed on the sizes available for purchase). Note to the manufacturer - generally when someone has bigger hands, they also have thicker, longer forearms. As opposed to my previous pair of pruning gloves, these come up only about halfway to my elbows and are very tight around my forearms.

Very good, would buy again
These are VERY good. We have a lot of brambles at the back of our garden and this is the first pair of gloves that have really allowed me to handle them comfortably. Occasionally you will feel a spike, but sufficiently protective to not be a problem. Will buy again. Note the size comes up a little small, so maybe order a size up.

Work great for thorn bushes
Regularly deal with trimming/removing blackberry bushes from the property perimeter. After years of scratched arms, even with long sleeves and using thick winter gloves to protect hands, I was ready to take the plunge and buy arm length protective sleeves. Then I found these - and they are great. I have worn them on a warm day with only a t-shirt and emerged scratch free. You will get the occasional "ouch" through a finger if handling large, extra thorny branches but I found they offered enough protection to avoid bleeding and cuts. More an "ouch" of surprise than genuine injury. Would certainly recommend, especially at this price point. IMPORTANT - suggest ordering a size up as others recommended. I wear a M size and ordered the L which fits fine.
