Compared to other repellents the odour is good especially for kids, no bites while we used it.

My daughter is highly allergic to mosquito bites. Last summer she had gotten bitten on her eye lid and it was swollen shut for 3 days. We spent the 2 days at the children's hospital and the attending pediatrician recommended this specific brand product so I purchased it. It does work 100% and I find that worth the price tag. I rated it 4 stars because of the price. But it is worth it to me because it works. The mosquitoes are out on the prowl all day long here not just during the evening. The doctor also mentioned it is compatible with sunscreen just put this on first and let dry then apply the sunscreen on top without heavy rubbing. If you are super allergic or just want the protection from mosquito this product will work for you. It also is supposed to repel chiggers,ticks and biting gnats/flies. We have all of those above as well. If you apply it correctly with even coat you will be fully protected. My daughter did get bit by a tick while having this product on. The only part of her skin that was exposed was a sliver of her scalp part from pony tails and that is where it found a home. If you know you have ticks bad where you live I would suggest putting it on any exposed scalp area as well or if short hair rub some through the hair. It doesn't have a bad smell. If you hair ends up looking a little greasy is better than finding ticks living on your scalp.

First I will say I've figured out how for me, not to get bitten at all. Will explain later. I do like the safety of Sawyer Picardin. My research made me comfortable. Mosquitoes will not land where it is applied. But, if I put it on my forearm and miss my elbow I will get bitten on my elbow or potentially anywhere the cream is not applied. Strangely they go for the feet, legs and arms on both of us. I've used the Picaridin spray and same thing happened. I would need to cover almost every inch of skin and though I've read it's got about the highest safety level I do not believe it's recommended for everyday use and should be washed off by the end of the day. Too much work for me. Also, when I get a bite it gets about 6 to 8 inches wide and turns the darkest shade of purple. Did research and found many owners use apple cider vinegar, ACV, in their horses water. If you try it for your animals please do the research. Read about people using it. One man said when weather warms up he drinks it daily. Takes 3 days to get in the system and put out the fragrance that mosquitoes dislike. Only once a day, I use organic ACV, 1 tablespoon in at least 8 oz. water, 1 teaspoon, or to taste raw honey. I stir, drink and immediately rinse my mouth several times as it can be hard on tooth enamel. Had been using it for years on and off. I suggest reading up on ACV to see potential side effects or interractions. I no longer get any bites. A friend of mine was being bitten badly. She just stopped getting bites, then they started up again. We tried to figure what changes she had made. She had been drinking kombucha during the "no bites" time. She started drinking kombucha again and the bites stopped. If you havent used organic apple cider vinegar before it has a cloudy spider web looking substance in it. It's supposed to be there. Just shake well.

I usually don’t write reviews but I just had to for this OUTSTANDING!!! Product! I purchased the deet free two pack lotion that lasts up to 2hrs...in the white & blue packaging.... this stuff is stupendous!!! As soon as I rubbed it on standing in the grass...my exposed arms went from itching in the grass..to suddenly NOT itching..I put it on my 6 month old sons legs and my 8yr old daughters exposed legs too..,later today after my shower... I went outside for some personal relaxation in my backyard (which is surrounded by trees,bushes, and grass etc) & I rubbed the mosquito repellent lotion on all my exposed body parts...as I sat in the backyard this evening to enjoy some cool summer air...I rubbed it on my feet, legs,thighs,arms,chest,upper back,neck...& I was NOT bit once! For years I avoided sitting outside because I hate getting bitten by mosquitoes...but NOT anymore!!! I am so HAPPY & excited by this stuff!! Go buy it now!!! You won’t be sorry I promise. I’m ready to enjoy the rest of my summer and early fall outside using this wonderful stuff! ....I just wish the lotion bottles were larger... Also I enjoy the feel of the lotion...& the smell isn’t bad at all...it smells a little like mosquito protectant...but it’s not annoying....MUST BUY! IT REALLY WORKS!

Went to a tropical rain forrest and knew I needed something strong, since this summer with the "no see ums" out break. I was not taking a chance. I have never tried this stuff, but researched all the scents this critter along with ticks and mosquitos hates. I will say it worked. We were hiking for about 5 hours and only had 3 bites on my ankle very close to my shoes which makes me think that I missed that spot. This stuff was great. For my face, I wore very sparingly (put on hands and patted on face). I also I wore a big rimmed floppy hat which worked. It did not stain, no harsh or unpleasant smell, rubbed right in. Great product !!

Have found this to be a very effective product. Purchased for a trip to Panama, where i actually found the mosquitoes to be very minimal in the locations we visited. No bites though. Have used it in the Alabama and Florida spring and summer, and found it just as effective as Deet, without the greasy, smelly side effects. Goes on like any unscented lotion and lasts for hours.
