are the bisquettes made of REAL apple wood or some other wood that is FLAVORED to be like apple wood?

Unlike some other pellets/brisquets, Bradley's are the real deal. Real wood, not covered with oil and called apple or maple or pecan or hickory. I've used Bradleys with excellent results on ribs, salmon, chicken, etc. Quality is excellent and they burn consistently.

Do these burn a flame of too hot like chips or wood chunks?

No they don't. They need an ignition source such as a hot plate, like the Bradley smoker uses.

Can these be used in other smokers? In place of the normal wood chunks?

They can but they will cook away much more quickly than a wood chunk. About the same a wood chips I would think. I did like the smoke flavor that was added.

What chemicals are used to bond the pucks?

The pucks are not bonded solidly - drop one and it turns to small fragments and dust. I think they may be bonded by damp sawdust being compressed in a mold. Contact Bradley directly as they will likely answer your question. Good service people in my experience.
