Removable antennas and strong signal sealed the deal.
Need something to provide wifi to your metal outbuilding? Pair this with a directional antenna mounted on the outside of the outbuilding (remove one stock antenna and connect it to the external directional antenna) and point the external one at your home router and you will be in business. With line-of-site and little to no obstructions it worked grea at over 700 ft. Range will depend on the external antenna. Pretty easy to set up as an extender. I found that one antenna port seemed to be 2.4G and the other 5G, so you might need to change the ports to where you connect the external antenna. I can't prove it, but I got better results at 2.4G on one port than another.

Failed after 2 weeks of use. Terrible support.
Worked fine for two weeks as a WiFi bridge to two printers connected to its ethernet ports. Then it would no longer connect or allow a connection, multiple factory resets and calls to customer service and the unit is totally bricked. Can't seem to get Linksys to help in any meaningful way other than to ship them the unit and then they will repair/replace at their discretion. Past my return window with Amazon by two days as it sat here for a week before I installed it and then I spent a week trying to get help and didn't notice my return window lapsing. Had to buy a different unit to get up and running and not sure if it's worth my time and cost to ship the unit off to get a refurbished one back that I could keep as a spare or try to sell.Pros: Worked great while it worked.Cons: Bricked itself after two weeks in service. While it works as a bridge, it does not allow for the option of disabling its extender mode, minor issue.

Works as described
This is a good wifi extender and works as described. I do think it should have been easier to install but the instructions didn't work. I had to call Linksys tech support. They answered quickly and were very thorough. Tech support gets 5 stars. I do want to say that if you do need to call tech support be really careful. I googled the model of the WiFi extender and the problem that I was having and I came up with several sites that almost looked real but were NOT Linksys. They had a chat feature, which seemed like they were trying to help but then said that I needed to call their next level tech support. I did that and then realized that they were not Linksys.Overall this WiFi extender is a good deal especially if you don't need the extra speed and features.

WiFi Coverage for Your Entire McMansion
I live in a 4,200 square foot McMansion that has a large patio out back. My main router has to be located in my front study, which means my home theater, garage, back upstairs bedroom, and back patio have been without WiFi coverage for the past 6 years. I purchased this extender hoping to extend coverage to those areas, and it worked beautifully. Setup was very easy. I used the Spot Finder feature to determine that placing the extender 10 feet in the air in my main living area (on top of our very tall entertainment armoire) is the best location for reaching the target areas. Then, I used WiFi Analyzer on my Droid phone to check the signals all over the house to verify coverage. Once everything was set to my liking, I clicked the "Make the Same as Router" boxes to make the SSIDs the same, and all of my devices seamlessly switch back and forth between the extender and the main router as I walk around the house. Signal strength has improved between 10 and 20 dBm in the target areas, and I finally have WiFi everywhere. I am very pleased with this purchase.
