You can rinse then gargle. I rinse for at least 30 seconds and gargle at the end.

Does this mouthwash work its best right away, or does it take a week or two to reach its max effect?

How does this product compare to Closys?

Hello. Haven't tried Closys, but this is not good stuff. First of all, it does not work! It has a terrible taste, and is one of the most "messy" products on the market. It just goes everywhere, even with practice. Just don't do it.

By far the most effective mouthwash available

I have been using Smartmouth for years now and find it to be the best mouthwash on the market. It is effective for eliminating bacteria and bad breath better than any of the other mouthwashes I have used. My only issue is that even with the new packaging, you have to be careful when pouring as the two sides don't always pour evenly.

So easy to use!!!!!

Why does everyone have a hard time pouring the mouthwash? The cup has two lines near the bottom which look equal to me. I open one side and pour to the first line from the bottom, then close the cap. I open the second cap and pour it to the next line, then close that cap. It is perfectly measured and I do not spill a drop.
