I volunteered to teach crochet to my son's 2nd grade class and I wanted to provide all the necessary supplies so the students would be able to take them home and continue practicing outside of class. I had intended to go through my home stash of yarn, but given the diversity in the class I thought it would be better to have a wide range of colors for the students to choose from. This set was the PERFECT solution! The yarn is high enough quality that it's easy for the kids to work with but cheap enough that it won't break the bank. The colors are bright and vibrant and the kids really love being able to choose a few colors they love. The skeins are small, but just the right size for a small beginner project (we're doing bracelets). Unless you do complex amigurumi where you need a tiny amount of a lot of different colors, I don't see this being practical for everyday use, but for learning you really can't beat the deal.

Oh Good Gracious - see what I did - being so pleased with the product I rushed to post a compliment and put it in the wrong review Sure - I should have known better - so here's my view of the product - Nice choice of colours bright and cheery and well assorted Three very useful free e.books - and if that were not enough - with this very high quality yarn - AND I always prefer Acrylic - there was also two crochet hooks and some lovely fat needles to sew up - By the Way - packed in a re-sealable bag - Excellent Value

Overall I liked the product but found there wasn’t enough in each ball to make some of the doll clothes I wanted to make. There was only one ball of each colour. I had also purchase the larger package of 10oz balls and was able to put together enough of at least one colour to make an outfit, but the dye lot is slightly different. I would like to be able to purchase larger quantities of some colours, same dye lot. I will use the smaller balls for accent. I also did not receive the free books and crochet hooks etc., which is not a problem, as I don’t need more crochet hooks or knitting needles.
