Unreal, fantastic, and amazing eye makeup book
Believe it or not at age 60 I still didn’t feel confident about the way I did eye makeup. I thought I would buy this book since it was incredibly reasonable. I so more than pleasently surprised at how thorough this book was and the length of it. Not only does she tell you how to create a smokey eye. She also covers lips, lashes, under eye concealer, shading and blending and night time looks. The author had some great tips and she even has a l-o-n-g list of products and brushes she recommends. The list alone is worth the price of the book. In case you haven’t figured it out by now, I really really enjoyed this book. I have bought books that cost 10X what this book cost and I enjoyed this title so much more. So, go to your Kindle and download this book RIGHT NOW. You will not be disappointed.

This is DEFINITELY for women who LOVE makeup or JUST WANT TO LEARN THE CORRECT WAY TO GET THE LOOK!
I gave this book five stars-first I love makeup. Second-I love learning techniques to better my makeup game. Gina basically holds your hand and walks you through step-by-step techniques for well more than a dozen Smokey eye shadow looks for day, night and full on GLAM. She does give tips and tricks for various skin shades as well. Gina writes about the history of it (trust me it's short), goes over the looks through the years (short as well) so you have a better understanding of the how to get and do the various looks here in the book. As I said, she gives very good detailed instructions step-by-step. And at the end of the book, she has a very good list of products (brushes, eyeshadow, etc), at all different price ranges, websites were you can purchase products plus names of You Tube video Makeup Artists (Two of my favorites made her list) that you can follow up with. I will DEFINITELY be practicing and perfecting and incorporating some of the looks to my makeup game. Thank you Gina!

Great overview
This book gives many examples of Smokey eye styles. After reading through the many examples you can get a basic idea or the gist of how to do a Smokey eyes. She gives resources to and let’s you know what tools you should use.The only think I didn’t like is she used illustrations instead of real photos fOr the examples towards the end of the book. But I understand perhaps using more photos would be more expensive to publish.

Many Smokey eye ideas
just an FYI - these ideas are drawn on and illustrated. There are not a lot of actual photos. The ideas are still great and I can’t wait to try them.

‘Them There Eyes……’ “… you don’t need a makeup pro to look like a million bucks.”
Gina Reyna has gathered information about the cosmetic industry that rivals the best of books on the profession of Cosmetic enhancement and the people who are proud artists in their field. Her first book, a `Comprehensive Guide for Beginners' went further than that any in giving resources and lists exploring makeup styles, the various tools of the trade (far more extensive than one might imagine), the education and training for the various levels of those who enter the field, the variations for employments versus freelancing, legal matters including licensing and what the makeup artists can and cannot do under law. And now she takes on a more one on one stance with the reader, teaching professional techniques for daytime wearable to ultra glamorous sultry eye makeup.Gina opens her book with an Introduction that says so much abut her as an expert and as a beauty coach: ‘I once heard a quote that made me smile: “I have an irrational fear of wasting a perfect smokey eye on an insignificant day.” It reminded me however that many women believe a perfect smokey eye can only be achieved with the help of a makeup professional. They are convinced they could never nail this technique themselves, when it’s just them and the mirror. So I thought “prove them wrong”. And so Gina does in this well written and illustrated book that rivals her own first book in quality and technique of presentation. The book covers the following sections: A retrospective study on how the smokey eye technique evolved and changed across the centuries, The 4 basic smokey eye styles and some of their most enticing variations, the essential tools needed to achieve a flawless smokey eye (including the right brushes & eyeshadows, and where to shop for them), how to prep eyes correctly for smokey eyes, concealing, blending and shading pro techniques, tips & tricks on how to achieve gorgeous lashes (everything you need to know on curling, applying mascara and using falsies), how to perfect the nude lip, the fail-safe complement to smokey eyes, and a step-by-step guide to applying 32 smokey eye looks, from Light & Natural to Soft & Sultry to Full-on Drama.Men may not read this book for information about the nitty gritty of techniques, but peeking in on just how women discover how to make themselves more beautiful is a lesson worthy of admiration. Another fine volume by Gina Reyna. Grady Harp, December 15

I was going to write a headline but I fell asleep reading this book.
This book is long winded and dull. Refers to baking your powder as cooking, which for some reason infuriates me, probably because it gives me something to feel while reading it and filling the space interest should be.It goes into tedious detail about very little; while managing to pass on little information regarding application of makeup. If this book elevates your career, it's because you don't have one and you confused it with an elevator.Might be good for someone with absolutely no knowledge, emotion and infinite patience, but I think I'll just go watch Tati on YouTube and learn literally everything in this book in twenty two minutes. This book will be kept by my bedside tho, because it has less side effects than Ambien while being almost as effective.
