No this is not the correct part for your vehicle. For a 1997 Toyota Avalon, no extra dash kit is required for most Double DIN stereo's. The original Toyota Avalon radio is already Double DIN size. You can remove the Toyota metal side plates from the original stereo and re-attach to the sides of your new Double DIN stereo.
