Thomas the Tough Trike: A Wild Ride for Little Engineers
Oh boy, where do I even begin with this Thomas & Friends Toddler Tricycle Tough Trike? My little one's face lit up like a Christmas tree when they saw it, and since then, it's been all aboard the fun train! First off, the Thomas & Friends styling? Pure genius. It's like having your very own locomotive right in the driveway. My kid felt like the coolest conductor cruising around the neighborhood. The rugged tires and wide wheelbase? Let's just say, no pothole stood a chance. We navigated through rough terrain like it was a smooth railway track. Even those "mountains" of the driveway were conquered effortlessly. And the secret storage compartment under the seat? Talk about a game-changer. We've stashed snacks, toys, and even a couple of rocks (because, you know, toddlers). It's like having a secret treasure chest on wheels! But the best part? Those big foot pedals. My kiddo had a blast learning to pedal forward and backward, feeling like a master conductor in training. The pedals were just the right size for those tiny feet, making it easy for them to take control. And let's not forget the handlebar grips! Those little details in Thomas-themed design made the entire experience more immersive. It's like Thomas himself was guiding the way. In conclusion, this trike is the real deal for your little locomotive lover. It's durable, fun, and sparks imagination like nothing else. Plus, watching your child's face light up with joy? Priceless. But beware: you might find yourself humming the Thomas & Friends theme song on repeat!

Great!
Grandkids love these! They work great! We have several so the kids aren’t waiting and sharing! They race and ride all over the driveway together! Some assembly, but very easy to put together! These are the grandkids favorites! A great value!

My son cannot reach the pedals from the seat but he loves this trike so far!!!!
First, I am always impressed with the quality of most Fisher Price toys. This one was no exception because my husband, who is very picky, initially remarked upon the quality and seeming durability of the plastic and we both noted it goes up to 55 lbs and age 6 which is great. My son is a bit taller for 1 than most kids and will be 2 in a few months anyway, so this gift was given early than the recommended age as he got his at nearly 21 months. At first, he could pretty much reach the pedals only because he is in a size 8.5 shoe and is a bit above average height. Now, he is can pedal better when he is far up from the seat because he has a long torso. So, while I recommend this trike, how well your child fits any trike is not just dependent on height, age and other physical attributes. They help a lot, though. When he first went out, I was happy to note it matched the colors of his Bell (age 3+) bike helmet, (which has monster trucks) on it perfectly and his head is the proper size to fit that now as it was nearly that size when we bought it over a year ago. And the helmet and trike are great together because my son watches Elmo and Barney from time to time and realizes you must wear a helmet. Plus, our neighborhood is about 99% without sidewalks and the state law where we live states that minors 15 and under must ride on the sidewalks and wear a bike helmet so, this helps a bit to get him ready for when he rides his bike with training wheels. Now, he and my husband have been outside to "trike" ride a few times and I nearly cried the first time I saw him peddling away as best he could but he was not sitting on the seat more up few inches from it. We bought this on sale last month when it was in the cart priced at $14.99 and we also used a - $10 off coupon that Amazon sometimes has in from Parents magazine, that was specifically for Amazon Mom's Baby Store, we had and got it for even less! Update: Sadly, after receiving gifts of a bike with trading wheels, a big-wheel trike with a low seat, and a pedal-powered go-cart my son cracked and broke his Thomas "Not-so-Tough" trike. It lasted until about late 2012 or early 2013...and yes, he was barely using it. I still think this trike is an amazing bargain at less than $35 with Prime membership, before taxes.

Great for the Price
For the price paid compared to other more costlier (but also more sturdy and more traditional) trikes, this is a great option! I wanted something my 18m and 4yo to see if they were actually going to spend significant time riding before I invested in a more solid trike and/or bike. After a month of use, it has been great for what I bought it for: my 18m walks it around in our basement (he is average height for his age and can’t quite reach the pedals) and my 4yo is getting some great experience practicing peddling it around the back patio. The only caveat I have for this trike (and why I didn’t give it a full 5 stars) is because when my 4yo pedals it about every 6-7th pedal the pedal/wheel will slip. Meaning he pushes the pedals but the front wheel doesn’t have enough traction against the ground to actually propel the trike forward. Otherwise a great trike for small ones wanting to motor around in small-medium spaces (driveway/patio/basement). We haven’t tried any extended riding on it yet.

Cute first trike
My 2 year-old likes this trike and has fun putting items in the seat, which flips up for storage. He's around the 30th percentile for height, though, and can't quite keep his feet on the pedals as they rotate around when he rides. This is an issue with all trikes for him - it's hard to find something that his little body can use properly. We were hoping that short toddlers could use this one based on the picture.

love it and works nicely
We tried my husbands old radio flyer trike and the handle bars were messed up. They would turn when u didn't want them to. Anyways, we got this instead after seeing my nephew on one. It suits the purpose until he is ready for a big training wheels bike. My son was 3.5 when we got this and just turned four. It took a few rides to build up the leg muscles, but now he loves it and can ride it on grass and up hill on the driveway. The tires do slip sometimes, but the kids learn to adjust how much pressure they give on surfaces that slip. My son figured out he can store his thermos intake (I reviewed this on amazon also, check it out, it is a Great everyday and car travel option for a cup) in the compartment. So if your riding along and you get thirsty, you have your drink! Fun feature. Hope this helps!

Thomas A Tank For Smaller Kiddos
This is a cute little trike, especially for Thomas the Train loving kiddos BUT definitely meant for bigger kiddos. Manufacturer says this is appropriate for kiddos 24 mos- 6 years. Take note of the full extension of the child's legs in the photos. My kiddo is almost 2 stands about 36" tall & still can't quite reach the pedals; he can only scoot up so far before throwing the balance off. He is a little shorter in the legs but even my longer legged 2.5 year old niece can just now reach the pedals without too much strain. If you are looking for something to teach your kiddo to pedal on NOW & they are a small 3 even 4 year old or younger I would say look somewhere else. My 3 year old nephew who is around 3 1/2 feet tall fits on this trike just fine but he's also tall for his age. I give it 3 stars b/c the kiddos still like it, especially the little compartment under the seat. It is also light-weight (yet durable) so it is easy for the kids to move around & I don't worry too much about smushed toes, fingers etc. Assembly required but not difficult although putting the back wheels/axle together takes just the right amount of tapping & wiggling on each side.

Well built and very sturdy
Bike is very well built, easy to assemble just need a star screw driver and a hammer. It would take anywhere between 30-45 mins to assemble this product and once built looks perfect. My daughter is loving it!
