Reliable shower pump.
This works great. My water heater went out and so I now heat a 5 gallon bucket of water using an immersion heater I have to heat the water up, and voila I have a shower with water to spare which is several gallons which I then water my plants with. It has a rechargeable battery. I find using it without the showerhead it comes with works better than with it. I've had it for quite a while now and am very pleased with it.

INCREDIBLY AMAZING!!!
When my water heater went out 2 weeks ago, I had no choice but to heat water from my electric kettle and a bowl of water in the microwave (both going at the same time). I filled my bath tub halfway with cold water, and the other half with the manually heated water. It took an hour and a half before the tub reached a desirable temperature suitable for bathing. I was so exhausted after making several trips back and forth from the kitchen to the bathroom. I really didn't enjoy my bath because after washing my hair, I was bathing in shampoo water and it felt disgusting and like I wasn't getting myself clean and rinsed off. Well, 2 weeks of this nonsense was driving me crazy!! I thought about going to the Pilot truck stop because I heard they have clean showers set up like a hotel room and you don't have to be a truck driver to use them; you simply pay $7 per shower. But that can add up daily. The next thing that came to mind was to join a gym and just shower up there after a nice workout, but I would have to pay a $60 fee upfront and sign up for auto-payment using my checking account at $20 per month after that. Sounds like a simple solution right? Well, it is if you're not on a tight budget like I am right now. I would love to purchase a new hot water heater, but at $600 tops for the one I need (unit, delivery, installation) it is going to have to remain on my "to do" list a little bit longer. So I decided to do some internet surfing on my favorite Amazon website and searched for portable showers and came across this unit. It sounded wonderful, and I made sure I read the reviews first before purchasing. It received great reviews so I added it to my cart and even paid an extra $10 for same day delivery (to break the madness of not having a clean shower, of course). It arrived about 6 hours later and was very easy to assemble. It comes with a USB cable to charge on your computer, so I plugged it in and headed off to a birthday party. By the time I got home, it was fully charged and ready to give it a "test drive". I used a 5 gal bucket I had purchased at Wal-Mart earlier for $3. It only took me 20 min to heat the bucket compared to 1 1/2 hour. Drop the pump into the water, turn it on, and you get a nice flowing shower. The shower head is actually larger than my current hand-held brand so I am getting more shower water with this one. Not knowing what to expect from this gadget, I kept thinking it would drain my bucket water quickly and I would be stuck wearing soap suds (a cold water rinse was not in the plan). But to my surprise, it slowly drained the water and I had more than enough left over that I just stood there and enjoyed the water (make sure to power off when soaping up). I went to bed a very happy CLEAN camper!! The next day, I bought a second 5 gal bucket with a lid (to hold the water temp in while not in use), a 5 gal solar shower bag ($10). Now before I go to work: 1) I fill the shower bag in the morning 2) set it directly in the sun 3) fill both buckets half full from the faucet so it reaches room temp by the time I get home. I get home and empty the shower bag into both buckets (both filled to the rim). The water is really warm from sitting in the sun all day (8.5 hrs). I put the lid on the second bucket until ready to use. Shower with the first bucket, remove lid from second and wash hair. I don't run out of water this way because I have long hair and it takes longer to rinse shampoo. I hope this was helpful. Thank you for taking time to read!!!

Wonderful in a pinch
Our tankless water heater exploded the other day. It became evident quickly that the home warranty company is going to drag their feet on a replacement and the unit we'll need for replacement will take a while to get here, so I googled portable shower options. We had considered going do the road to planet fitness and paying for a membership just to shower there. But then, I found this wonderful thing. I couldn't hit buy now quick enough! We just got our unit today. Both my husband and I promptly took showers after only charging the unit for maybe 15 min. Boiled a couple large pots of water on the stove. Put the hot water in a bucket and went to the shower where I added cold water to bring temp to a skin safe temp. Plopped the motor end in to the bucket and took a warm shower! Now was this the most relaxing shower I've ever taken? No! Does this thing have great water pressure? No. Does it work and effectively take hot water from a bucket and make a shower? Yes! I have hair down to my rear. 5 gallons was just barely enough to shampoo and condition and wash my body. Make sure you take caution to not get suds from washing soap/shampoo off into the bucket providing the water. The hanger for the shower head was pretty useless. If you need to put the water down but dont want to waste it, just put the shower head over the side of the bucket so it's going right back in the bucket instead of down the drain. All in all, I highly recommend this if you need a shower in a pinch. It does work great compared to any other portable shower option out there! That being said, here's hoping we don't HAVE to use this much longer. But I'm so glad it was an option!

Wish on off switch was on the handle.
This is a good product works well, however I wish they made one with the on off switch on the handle near the head. It would be more convenient in your hand while using than having to look for the switch in the water each time. Especially with soap all over. So it kinda wastes some water while looking. I haven't found a single one so far. But I would recommend this as I haven't found the other option.

Works as described and in emergencies.
I am so tired of “Love it!” reviews. Here is the review that I wish I had before I ordered this product. This product is worth buying and works as described. The photo shows how many water holes are in the shower head compared to other camp showers. The shower comes with a hook for the shower head, but the hose is too short for my 5’7” height because the pump part must stay in the water bucket if the bucket is on the ground. I like this product and would recommend it to friends and family. That’s the short story. Keep reading for a detailed review. For those who value detailed honest product reviews, here’s my story: I ordered this portable shower product a year ago and practiced using it for car camping. Yesterday, I fell at home and broke my ankle bones on both sides of the ankle. Yeah, bummer right? So my downstairs does not have a shower or tub and I really wanted a shower because the ankle dressing is not supposed to get wet. I used a big clean plastic trahbag to protect the dressing and proceeded to shower with the Ivation Portable Outdoor shower. This review is based on my experience with the portable shower in a real world environment. I had stand by assistance from a family member. I threw on the floor a couple of towels and the standby person put a commode chair on top. I put the uninsured foot into a large plastic basin. I had additional dry towels purchased on Amazon nearby. I used a few drops of concentrated Dr. Bonner peppermint soap which can be ordered on Amazon in several scents and unscented. The bathroom sink was filled with water and a tiny bit of Dr. Bonner liquid soap. Making some water mess, I proceeded to shower. Very few drops of water went outside the towel barrier. This is what I liked: 1) The hose was long enough to reach wherever I needed it to go. I am approximately 5’7” and had to bend for the water to reach my hair. The hose has water in it even when out of the water. Having the water basin and faucet at waist height was great and I recommend raising the basin for any use if you are tall so the hose can wash your hair. 2) The charge is through USB which makes it easy charge with a laptop, or other USB outdoor device. The device was not charged for a year and the shower was still strong. 3) The water flow can be stopped by folding the hose to kink it. As long as the pump at the bottom is in water, the water will flow. It took two hands to fold the hose. The hose is strong and thick. 4) The on off switch is on the pump opposite side of the USB plus and is simple to operate. There is a strong plastic cap on the switch. The cap must be pulled off to see the push button switch. 5) A gallon of water can provide a full shower. I used two gallons for a shower and to wash my hair. If I was more efficient, I could have used less water. 6) This shower with lots of shower holes can be used as a shower system for people and pets. It is a more efficient use of water. Start with very warm but not scalding water because the water cools as it leaves the hose. Be sure to check the water temperature before allowing children and the aged to use the shower. Use common sense. 7) For camping - this portable shower system is a yes. A black bag can cover the water to heat it with solar or water from a campfire can be used. Please use caution with hot water. For backpacking, it may add too much weight - but if the big shower feeling gets the family outdoors, the weight is worth the end result of happy campers. 8) Power outages, natural disasters, emergency medical, natural disasters, building and construction sites may find the shower device helpful. 9) I’m unsure how long it takes the device to charge, but can say that my device maintained a strong charge for almost a year in storage. 10) If showering while standing in a basin and using a biodegradable biologically neutral soap, soapseed, the water can be poured out in specific area without harming nature. These soaps are sold on Amazon. I do not know if they will harm the device. I used Dr. Bonner. Oils are slippery. I did not use oils in the water and recommend not using oils in the water. Use oils, lotions and creams after the shower and wear socks untucks lotions and oils are absorbed into the feet. Don’t fall. What I did not like: 1) The entire pump includes the on off switch and USB recharge port. The entire unit goes into the water. At some point water will enter the component and cause the device to stop working. I think the manufacturer should rethink having everything underwater or create a longer warranty. 2) The on/off switch which is hidden under a grey cap is awarkward to reach down into the water to turn off to power each time you need to stop the device to soap up or scrub yourself. There is no other way to stop the water flow except to reach down into the water to push to on/off button or kink the hose. The entire device looks sleek, but the trade-off is extra bending to turn off the device and water flying everywhere while trying to balance oneself on one foot to reach into the clean water and turn off the device. The grey cap must be removed to turn the device on or off. The grey cap does not appear to create a water seal around the on/off switch and may be confusing to users. I first saw this device on a YouTube channel called CheapRVLiving. I recommend going to that channel to watch that video on comparing outdoor showering devices. If you found this review helpful, please give it a click. The helpful votes help improve my writing. One of my sons said that “nobody” reads long reviews. He said people just want quick statement if the product works or not. I enjoy showing him the helpful vote numbers add up because it shows him that you kept reading to the end. I am encouraging him to spend more time reading the actual reviews instead of looking only at the stars to reduce the amount of exchanges and returns he makes. The reviews help people know what they are buying so they are satisfied customers.

Perfect for the outdoors
Went on an adventure on Vancouver Island, off grid. One night we camped next to a falls and a river. So beautiful and calming. We swam and floated the river and enjoyed a family dinner of gumbo. The next morning, I walked into the river with this shower. The first use and it was perfect. Push the button and you have a shower. Albeit cold, it is still easier than splashing water all over your body to remove the soap and grime. I would buy extra for the guys, but they all have their own setups for showers. Easy peasy. Just remember, it floats, so don't let it float away.

I’m grateful to the manufacturer and customer’s reviews!!
My water heater broke. I should have fixed it long ago but I’m going by through a mental rough patch and still haven’t replaced it…because I need to replace some plumbing too. I’ll pick myself up soon but meanwhile I searched for camping shower options -thinking I’d buy one of those sun-heated bags one hangs and adjusts the little shower head nozzle. But when I saw this I liked the idea and the rating were mostly great and I liked that it’s rechargeable. I was worried it’d be too short -as I’m 5’10” and like my shower head to hang a minimum of 6” higher than my height. And I was worried about the on/off button being vulnerable to leaks and shorting out. I charged it, filled a 5 gallon buck with half cold well water and half boiling water and had SUCH A PLEASANT SHOWER!(!!!) Plenty tall enough for me to never need to bend down, the gpm rate is right where I’d place it and I very much like the happy color. And the on/off button seems like it’ll be reliable for years to come. There is a protective cap that keeps the button from accidentally being pressed during storage. I’ve never tried one of these before but I’m very happy I bought this bright red one. Thank you fellow customers for all the good, informative reviews that convinced me to buy this specific brand/model. And thank you to the manufacturer and factory workers for making a very good quality product. I hope you all feel very good for giving your customers a very nice shower experience. And I wish I knew who invented this wonderful product because I’d like to thank them -or their estate as well. I’ve kept into the rabbit hole of patents and will eventually figure out who came up with it first…I see some early 1980’s versions…all have expired… It’s a very busy day for me and I gotta get back to work but I had to write this review to show my gratitude -the moment I got dressed! I hope my review is helpful and I wish you many happy showers. -Hans

Pricey but really easy to use and worth every penny!
I didn’t want to spend this much on a portable shower, and was worried it would be flimsy and not very powerful. Boy was I surprised! I bought this to allow me to wash my 42kg Labrador outside in the garden, he is too big to lift into the bath, hates being washed and I have to ferry loads of buckets of warm water to and from the kitchen, as I don’t want to use a cold water garden hose. This shower is a game changer, and makes bi-monthly bath time so much easier. I filled a large garden grid from the cold hosepipe, topped it up with 3 kettles of boiling water - inserted the shower pump and managed to wash and rinse my dog in under 30mins. I didn’t even need that much water, despite using lots of shampoo and giving him a good rinse afterwards. It’s brilliant, and providing the battery life and recharging capabilities work for a good few years - I reckon it’s worth every penny! I did research lots of reviews of outdoor showers before choosing this one - and it got great reviews online and in product tests for camping magazines
