However, the lead in this product does not come into contact with the food you are processing, so as long as the grinder shows no signs of damage, it is perfectly safe to use.

If you are going to buy the top of the line stand mixer, why wouldn't you spend the extra money and get metal attachments. The metal attachments generally don't wear out or break like plastic. There are two metal attachments available, aluminum or stainless steel with the stainless obviously the most expensive.
