Is Jesus separate from manger, or connected?

Jesus is a separate piece, and can be either laying in the manger or in Mary's arms.

Why is st joseph so much larger than the wisemen and mary ?

The standing shepherd is actually taller than Joseph. I do not have the wise men. The other shepherd is knelling and so is Mary so they are shorter. Everything is appropriately sized and beautiful. I might also ad they all need to be in the same color boxes or they will not be appropriate. I have the green boxes.

Can this be used outside?

I have only used it inside. It is not that large, it is breakable and so the outdoor setting would have to be fairly protected.

This Holy Family Joseph, Mary, and Jesus with manger is amazingly beautiful. It is very well made and exceeded my expectations. I especially love the special feature that baby Jesus can be held by Mary. I also like that it is the large size (12" scale) and I'm so happy I was able to purchase it. I just wish I can also get the right-sized lighted stable to go with it.
