these bowls are thick and sturdy. They are a bit heavy and the handles are a tad small for handling one handed given their weight. If you put a hot stew, soup or chilli in a room temperature bowl it will bring the temperature of the food down while bringing the bowls temperature up. In other words, they act as a heat sink in an attempt to equalize the temperature between food and bowl. If that is a concern one might try heating the bowl before adding food. Other than that, they're nice, good looking, bowls.

Impressive. This color is so pretty. It is heavy. Brought it because it is casted iron and coated, making it easy to maintain. And less chances of cracking like the glass cookware from water contact when hot. It is a great investment. The delivery was speedy.
