She was able to set it up and start using it immediately. The level of magnification (up to 2000X) is impressive, allowing her to go beyond simple school projects. She's been analyzing everything from onion skin and flower petals to insects. It strikes a great balance between being an educational tool and being genuinely fun. The quality and features of it is great value for money, it feels very sturdy with the metal body, not like a cheap toy. We especially appreciate the mechanical stage, which makes adjusting the slides so much easier, and the phone adapter is brilliant for capturing images and sharing her discoveries with us. The included slides were a perfect way to start. This is a high-quality, inspiring piece of equipment that fuels a love for biology and microscopy. Highly recommended for any student or young person interested in STEM!

We’ve bought this as a present to our son, but me and my wife ended up using it more than he and his old brother do. It comes with 10 slides of various samples like insects/blood/etc. They are magnificent to trigger someone’s curiosity. After those, we’ve started picking other items to look at. Dirt is the most exciting, because it helps us discuss hygiene with our kid, using visuals.
