I am by, no means an experienced artist. I have been using a #2 pencil every time I doodle. But now, with this set I can finally draw so much easier. I always had a problem with shading, but with so many choices and types; everything is so much quicker. The sharpener is plastic btw, it still sharpens properly. The eraser is soft and works like a charm! This pencil set is just what I needed to start out!

I love these pencils, it's great to have a set with multiple shades/ intensities all in one place. The darker colors do seem a bit grainier, but I will have to figure out whether that is just the paper I am using in my current sketchbook, or if it's a general issue.

I've used Faber-Castell for over 40 years. They're known for good quality. The only thing I'd say about this set is that I've never much needed anything but an HB, 2B, and 4B for drawing, maybe a 2H on occasion, so this set has some grades of pencils I don't think are essential, but the art stores have been on lockdown and this seemed like as good a a way to get some new pencils as any.

I seem to find wood material in even the very best pencils. The H pencils in particular have hard stuff that dents the paper.
