I have a Kindle fire hd but I have no Wi Fi on my computer - will this product give me the connection I need to order books etc. from Amazon??

You can use this adapter to set up a Soft AP on your computer if your computer is connected to the internet. Then you can connect your Kindle to the Soft AP and surf the internet.

is this device able to do monitor mode and packet injection on kali linux running in a virtual box on macbook pro late 2013 retina

Devices itselft - can, but You are describing very complex and layered setup, probably, INSIDE the Linux running under virtual box - no, but running under KVM with IO paravirtualization - yes. But that's very "layered" setup..

any one with linux used this on monitor mode or tried packet injection? ie: Kali distribution

It would work in Monitor mode in Kali distribution.

I have a desktop that doesn't already have wireless connection. What's the difference between this and a PCI wireless network card?

A PCi wireless network card is placed in an expansion slot of the PC desktop. The Panda Ultra Wireless is placed in a USB port.
