This picardie set looks more expensive than it is and excellent value for money. It's such a lovely design and went well with my other white and gold china. The only downside with gold china is that you cannot put them in the dishwasher, but it is no problem to wash them up as it is not like they are going to be used every day. It’s the same glass James Bond was drinking from in Skyfall movie.

I am happy with these glasses. I love the color. When they arrived, I was surprised by the lack of protective packaging. The glasses were not damaged at all though. They seem to be very durable.

I bought these glasses since discovering that Duralex actually submitted a group of their glass products voluntarily for official testing with an XRF instrument, which tested negative for lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic and barium...results that seem quite rare on both counts! I am happy to report that these little tumblers are also beautiful, in a simple, traditional, understated way, which makes me happy when I pull one out of the cabinet for my morning juice. I love the traditional design and that the glass itself has a fine-ness about it that just feels classy and great in-hand. I am extremely grateful to any company that cares enough not to endanger the consumer's health with an unscrupulous grab for easy profit, and I will support them with my $$$ whenever possible. Duralex has become rather pricey (and finer) over the years. When I bought my first Duralex glass, over 20 yrs, ago in Spain, you could find them at their equivalent of the 'dollar store' . Not anymore! (They are STILL used there in most of the Bars and Cafes, however.) But it's nice to feel like I can trust Duralex products and sooo worth it to me health-wise, that I have started the long, expensive journey of substituting all of my old toxic glasses and plastic mixing bowls for Duralex glass only. My family will love inheriting them when I am no longer around. And they do go on sale occasionally! The only con for me is the lack of larger bowl sizes, especially as single selections, and of taller tumblers to match this shorter tumbler in the Provence model that I purchased; although there is not much difference from the Picardie line that is offered. I bought these primarily because I love a big latte, and they work supremely well for that purpose. But, they're such a nice glass, and such a good size, they've also become my go-to drining glass. I love the updated shape. It's reminiscent of the original, super-thick hex-walled latte glasses made by the same company, and that are familiar around the world, but they have a more refined shape. The slight bulge just below the lip of the glass sits wonderfully comfortably in your hand, and adds a modern twist to the original cafe glass. These are a thinner-walled glass than the original cafe glasses, which makes them lighter to carry - quite handy in this 500ml size, which is massive to hold. A really satisfying glass to use, and a classy upgrade on the classic style that's been around seemingly forever.
