Great Finish for Engraved Wood – Rich Color and Lasting Protection
I used Furniture Clinic Danish Oil as the finishing coat on engraved wood coasters and door hangers, and it worked beautifully. The oil goes on smoothly, soaks into the grain, and leaves a warm, natural finish that really brings out the engraving detail. It gives the wood richer color without being overly glossy, which I prefer for engraved pieces. Application is straightforward—wipe on, let it absorb, and wipe off the excess. Once dry, it provides a durable layer of protection against moisture and everyday wear. On coasters especially, it helps resist water rings while keeping the engraved design sharp. Pros: Enhances natural wood grain and engraving detail Easy to apply with a simple wipe-on process Provides protection from moisture and wear Works well for both decorative and functional pieces Cons: Requires multiple coats for the best finish Slight odor during application (fades once cured) Overall, this is a reliable oil finish that balances looks and durability. It’s an excellent choice for small engraved projects like coasters, signs, and door hangers, but versatile enough for larger furniture too.

This us goid wood finish oil
After trying this - I will probably convert completely to it versus linseed oil. It ends up a bit shinier and cures quicker.

Danish tongue oil
Works well. It is well absorbed and has a mild odor.

This seemed to go onwell, but the smell was rather bad.
I applied this several weeks ago and it seems to be working out rather nicely. It makes a very subtle finish, which I like.

Works great, smells great!
It’s a little expensive, but that’s because it’s for premium furniture, not doing large areas of flooring. It looks nice, spreads evenly, and dries evenly. It’s not a ton of protection, but that’s just danish oil, not this one in particular. I wish I could get a scented candle that smelled like this stuff; the smell of this stuff drying is now one of my happy places. It is slightly thinner than maple syrup.

Works as expected
I'm not the most qualified person to review a wood treatment. There are hundreds of reviews for this product on Amazon UK website, if you want to check them. Anyway, for some reason I wanted to try this instead of the omnipresent Watco. The manufacturer markets it for kitchen and floors, I used it for a big table (10 person) and it was the right amount that i needed, enough for 5-6 coats. If it holds nicely, I would apply more coats some months from now, instead of applying any resin on top. A section of the table was rained on after 3 coats and it didn't soak, so I'm optimistic about this product. The table was a giveaway because the previous owner botched the finishing job and left a sticky mess all over it. I sanded it as best as I could and the Danish Oil gave it a nice rich finish. The quality of the finish was proportional to the quality of my sanding job. I did sand the tabletop with care and it looks nice. Can't say the same for the legs. I applied the first coat generously with a rag and wiped 10 minutes after. For the following coats i used a blue paper towel, followed by a 600 grit sanding wet in oil, and then wiped dry with a clean blue towel. The 600 grit sanding added a satin like finish. Please read about safe handling and disposal of the rags and towels used, because they are extremely flammable

Very thin, dries too quickly...
This seems to be made up of more solvent than oil. The consistency is extremely thin. It dries before it even has a chance to penetrate the wood and requires way more coats than the most popular Danish oil sold on Amazon. Luckily, I only purchased the small bottle because I will not be buying this again.

Game changer
This oil brought my wood doors back to life. The best they have ever looked. I will be stocking up on this product. Wish there was a 6 star option.

Sehr gut

Very good
Very good. It changed the look of my antique colonial-style teak desk. By repeating the application twice, the wood looked younger.
