I was skeptical at first, but this pencil is a great holder for stubbies. It is very light and easy to hold and well balanced. The pencil writes very smooth. It is held in the bullet end very tightly. A downside is the refills are a little pricy. I am using it all the time and am running through my refill box rather quickly. If you can find round pencils and cut them down will work. If you have to use a hex pencil scrape the hex edges to round off the pencil it should be fine. just be careful not to bend the holder. The brass turns to a tarnished look which I like. If you like the shiny brass, you will need to polish it from time to time. The eraser is rather large, but it is very soft and works well. I was surprised how well it did work so well. Hope you like yours as well as I do mine. Mark

This is my second bullet pencil the first being Midori brand and this being the new Traveler's brand. Both are really convenient and nice to hold. But this one feels much more sturdy and has a bit more weight to it which I really like. Overall a really nice pencil which I believe I will be using for a number of years.
