Cuisinox Premium Salt and Pepper Mill and Spice Grinder with Ceramic Mechanism, 4" x 5", Stainless Steel

Oh, I just love these salt-and-pepper grinders. I've started using pink Himalayan salt, so I needed a very sturdy ceramic salt grinder that would stand up to the tough use that this salt will give it. I read a lot of reviews before finally settling on this pair. Since the grinder is ceramic, I do not have to worry about rust forming from the salt. I was also very tired of messing around with cheap pepper grinders. Plastic, glass, wood, whatever, the pepper grinders that I have been using just plain strip out. And I know better than to rotate back-and-forth with a grinder when you use it. I understand that strips out the mechanism that is inside. After many months of daily use, both of these grinders continue to work as perfectly as day one. Thankfully, the salt grinder prevents moisture from getting to the salt crystals inside. I was concerned about that because I live in an area with high humidity. Keeping salt dry with other grinders and shakers has always been a problem here. With this grinder that problem no longer exist. These grinders are not only visually pleasant, but also well balanced in the hand. The round shape fits my large hand perfectly and gives me just the grip I need to properly turn the grinders. I also appreciate that I am able to adjust the grind on both of these truly down to a very fine almost invisible grind. I can adjust the grind to the largest flake I could possibly want. The glass is heavy, so I do not worry about breakage. I do use the small plastic caps that come with the grinders especially for the salt. The caps are useful if you need to measure either the salt or pepper into a recipe as well. If you are on the fence about getting this product, I highly encourage you to give it a try. Remember, Amazon does have a 30 day return policy just in case you're not as pleased with them that I am.

disappointing. We had purchased the Starfrit salt and pepper mill set some years back and finally the pepper mill broke. The Starfrit wasn't available, but this set looked very similar. Especially liked it because the grinder was on top and had a cover like the Starfrit. But there is no ease of use. The ground salt looks shaved (I know that sounds odd), and doesn't sprinkle well at all. Grinding away with not much results for the effort. The pepper is the same way without the shaved look. We were at tbe grocery store today looking at spices and saw the McCormick pepper with grinder and salt with grinder. They were not the small ones I'd seen before, but about twice the size, almost as big as these grinders. MAINLY, the grinders WORK. Hubby and I used both at dinner, and the ease of use after several weeks of frustration with this hard to use Cuisinox set was VERY appreciated.

This is a great mill and works better than I expected. I bought this for grinding Himalayan Salt crystals. I want to use this salt because of the benefits of the minerals contained in it. I have used other mills for this salt and they quickly rust and seize up. This mill does a great job of grinding it because it is ceramic, but because the salt gets powdery after grinding a few months it plugs it up a little. I just have to rinse the top and grinder off and dry and we're good to go again. I would buy again...no rust.

I have used the salt grinder (available separately) for quite a while and it is the only good solution I have found for humidity. I have tried them all I think. The grinder itself cannot be metal when salt is involved, so these being ceramic is crucial. The second important feature is the cap, which is more helpful than I expected. I wanted a matching set, so bought this set (use the extra salt in the kitchen). I have found that it's actually also an improved grinder for pepper. It seems to be more able to keep the grind uniform. Also produces more pepper with fewer twists. These hold a lot of salt or pepper, which I like.....don't have to refill very often. But they are very easy to fill. Overall, I am totally happy with these.

This was the 2nd one of these that I've purchased. The first one lasted about a year before breaking. I really liked the fine grind that this grinder delivered and the price was not too high so I bought another. The second one lasted about six months. I was very careful to not over work it knowing it's past propensity to breakage. Alas, it self-distructed as well. I certainly ain't buying another! Twice burned! I do wish that I could find a pepper grinder that would grind fine, load easily and be a top dispenser. I guess my search will have to continue.

This thing is huge; I certainly didn't expect it to be nearly 5" tall. I think it's well made, but not very ergonomic to handle. Kind of wish I hadn't bought it, but it does work well and has a large containment for what you want ground. Don't need to refill multiple times to get amount desired.

I love large, freshly cracked pepper, and this does the job great. On the rare occasion when I want a finer grind, though, I still find large pieces of pepper coming out of the mill. If you prefer a consistent fine grind, this probably isn't for you. Other than that small flaw, it's a great mill. It's cute and fits in our kitchen well.

I got this quickly and it works very well. I like the ability to adjust the grind. Would prefer a hinged lid as that is a bit awkward. Edit: ceramic burr wore down, then its plastic mount broke

i agree with Debbie and this product is pure garbage. It doesn't work!

Lasted for 7 1/2 years before the mechanism broke (plastic). For 25$ I'd say it's worth it for the price but I would pay more for metal parts.

Unfortunately I cannot provide a rating as it fell and broke as I was removing it from the package. Wish it was not glass.

Ok grinder. I e been using it for two years now and no, it hasn't broken (then again I don't have gorilla hands). I bout it for $14 and now price has dropped. Definitely good for the money if you do t want to be ripped off for Wood carved bodies etc on the more expensive ones (I don't care about the looks)

This is a smart looking grinder with far more capacity than most of its type and includes a plastic cover to keep the mechanism clean when not in use. As it arrives it grinds so fine it's almost dust! I opened it up for pepper. I added small labels to show the direction to turn it for grinding as like most it only works one way. Given other comments, check the grinding mechanism for any cracked parts before you use it, but the four I ordered all arrived in perfect shape. Cuisinox Salt/Pepper/Flax Seed Mill, White
