Excellent replacement for BMW LC GSA
Bought this prior to a trip for my 2014 BMW GSA, as existing DEKA battery (recommended built in USA brand) was beginning to show signs of failure after 5 years. This new Yuasa was a warehouse item and was not sure if I was getting a new, unactivated battery or if it had already been used/returned. Was pleasantly surprised to find a new unactivated battery and there was only a tiny bit of crush damage to the box. Battery case, posts, electrolyte pack all undamaged and all instructions/hardware included. Per instructions and using eye protection and gloves, filled battery with easy to use electrolyte pack and installed sealing caps and let it set for about 45 minutes, then installed in bike, trickle charged at recommended rate overnite and left on 1500 mile trip the next day. Bike started fine the whole trip and could I monitor charge rate, which was stable, via the built in display on the bike. Also have an Optimate charge monitor/ charging port attached to the battery that shows state of charge with a flashing LED. Most BMW dealerships I have been to seem to install this as routine on the new bikes. Yuasa is well known in the M/C community for quality batteries and being able to get one at a warehouse price was a plus. If you GSA came with the shorter battery, as mine did originally, you just need to remove the foam spacer to install this battery. Think this same battery fits the earlier camhead/hexhead GS's as well as others. Recommended purchase!

Good product, you do have to do the initial acid fill.
The packaging was a bit roughed up, but the battery was great. You need to follow the instuctions given exactly as stated. You do have to fill it up with the supplied acid. The battery fits perfect in my bike and works perfect. I have had no issues up till now. Hopefully it lasts as long as my previous battery which was 5 years.

Must charge before using.
Nice to start a battery from fresh. Adding acid upon arrival makes sure this item has not been sitting on the shelf aging.

working great in my 2007 Honda VTX1300C
After having to deal with a 5 yr old Walmart Everstart AGM that failed from sitting out in the cold unused this winter I went searching for the most OE style battery in the correct form factor for my motorcycle. The great Honda VTX 1300 from 2007 and probably other years uses the 14BS size. Not wanting to gamble with the wide assortment of lithium batteries that are floating around this marketplace I decided on this Yuasa which is a pretty well known brand/company for powersports batteries. Figured this is the closest thing to what was sold with the bike new and I've sold this style to customers when I worked retail auto parts. Pretty easy to install but does require some prep work which may not be for everyone. FIRST, make sure you have a low amp automatic battery charger at home or know someone that can charge this for you. Read all the instructions that come with this battery. I will explain very simple steps here for you all this is what I did. 1) open box, remove contents 2) read instructions for battery and acid mix 3) place battery on flat level surface outdoors (in case acid spills) 4) remove foil seal on battery and plastic strip from acid pack top 5) flip acid container upside down, line up the holes and push down with firm, even pressure against the battery until the seals are punctured 6) allow 20 minutes for acid to drain from tubes into battery 7) let sit an additional hour or two for acid to be absorbed or become saturated in the cells/mats/plates THIS step is the most important according to the instructions 8) using firm pressure, slowly push the plastic strip from the acid pack onto the top of the battery 9) plug in the battery charger and connect + and - , and let charge for several hours or until the charger turns off or goes into float/maintain mode. I let mine charge overnight in the garage. 10) remove from charger and *optional* preferably let sit for another 30 minutes to an hour and check voltage with a meter to make sure it has a good charge. any battery removed immediately from a charger will show a high voltage but the real test is after it sits how much of that was actually a surface level charge vs. a deep charge. this really shows the "health" of a battery as a whole unit. 11) wire brush clean terminals and install using included screw and backing nut, tighten with screw driver then snug a little bit more using a 1/4" drive socket to ensure it won't vibrate loose. 12) crank the engine and go for a ride! 13) remember to remove the battery next winter and store inside!
