ForLife Saving Device
I use this device to protect myself from episodes of bed air in my community. Generally speaking the air quality in my neighborhood is acceptable but circumstances sometimes result in poor air quality due to the unregulated air pollution from a local paper mill. If I am caught outside when this bad air comes in, I often have to be taken to the hospital. The Plume device alerts me to changing conditions in time to seek shelter. Literally, this device is a life saver!

Excellent!!!
After getting used to how to use the item I’m really impressed with how much information is collected. The App used in conjunction is excellent.Just frightening how much air pollution there is (and how much it decreased during the virus lockdown!).

Flow 2 is not very accurate.
Wildfires in California.Smoke all over.Flow 2 reading better after factory reset, and dissociate and reconnect. But it still seems to read too low. At least compared to local air district sensors and Purple Air. Flow reads a constant 2 ug/m3 when air quality is good or moderate, a couple readings at the local air sensor were about 15 and 30. Yet the flow seldom budge from 2. Higher, very poor air quality of 130 or 140 ug/m3 is also shown way too low on flow 2, at about 50. This is for PM2.5.South Coast Air District has reviewed about 50 "low cost" (under $2000 AQ sensors. In August 2020, they reported on three Flow2's they had in the field and compared them to the Air District's very expensive sensors. In likely what is the worst, if not the worst field report, the Flow2 had "no to very weak correlations" with the Air District devices, both for PM and for NO2.Also, the NO2 sensor does not work if the temperature is below about 65 degrees F. And again the South Coast Air District finds the NO2 has no to very weak correlation with it's NO2 sensors. The Flow 2 data does not even match Plume Labs Air Quality app, which forecasts AQ city by city, and even by street. (Plume has a second app for the Flow.)Support for US is less than perfect, since they work on Paris time, which is 9 hours later than PDT.Online chat does not work sometimes, gets error messages. EDIT2, online chat works best very early in the morning PDT, and some midday. They recommend not sending emails, but trying to use their chat.Flow2 is really portable, and I can take it inside and out, and check my air purifiers are cleaning the air. I just don't have any kind of idea of how much, since the numbers Flow 2 produces don't seem accurate, either in my tests, or in the South Coast Air District tests. The Flow 2 does have a lot of different sensors, but perhaps Plume Labs, the manufacturer, should stick to trying to get fewer sensors right. EDIT: I worked with Plume online for three weeks, but could never get answers from their engineers as to why my Plume was not consistent with other sensors, nor why it was not at all consistent with South Coast Air District in two months of tests. One more thing I should mention, it has the ability to download data. However with data every minute, there are well over 1,000 (60 x 24) readings every day. So the amount of data very quickly becomes unwieldy, Plume Labs does not seem to have any settings to get just a day of data, or a week. You just get all the data your Flow 2 has ever created.Note: There is a similar product called AtmoTube Pro, sold here on Amazon, (for $20 less), that did much better in the South Coast Air District tests. I just don't have any direct experience with AtmoTube Pro. I decided to go with the IQAir Airvisual Pro, it's more of an indoor device, but shows both indoor and outdoor. The Air Visual Pro gets outdoor values from other devices.

Sleek design but with significant flaws.
I cycle/walk every day so the ability to track my environment would be a huge benefit. On the plus side this a small, compact device with a sleek design and a sturdy rubber strap - ideal for cycling. Unfortunately this unit, and its software, has some significant flaws.Rather than list the negative issues (and reduce an otherwise lengthy review) I thought I would concentrate on the main drawback which is the variability of data. On one occasion I recorded an AQI reading of almost 300 in my house and 2 minutes later it was in single figures. Another time the reading outside my house was high and so I decided to drive to a remote hillside away from civilisation - and cars. I was amazed to see that the reading had gone even higher! On a regular walk there was no consistency and therefore the only conclusion to derive was that everywhere has very high pollution - at some point in time. In other words, it was useless for me.I did attempt to reach out to the supplier (after reading all the FAQ's and AFTER the advised 7 day settling in period) but received no reply.I hate being negative but felt that I had to share my experience, and disappointment. I previously worked with data in my job at a university and therefore I believe Im qualified to asses this tool. Also be aware that if you return the item it has to go to Paris which was quite expensive postage.

C’est peut-être un attrape nigaud
Je ne suis vraiment pas sûr de la fiabilité de ce produit...
