Un livre très complet et très pertinent sur l’histoire des SL et SLC version R107 et C107, et sur ce qu’il faut savoir quand on veut en acheter une. C’était un cadeau pour un ami, qui connaît assez bien le modèle et son histoire, mais qui a quand même encore appris des choses intéressantes.

I have been a member of the Mercedes Benz club of America for over 15 years. I have owned four Mercedes automobiles and, over the years have attended several tech sessions. I recently bought my fourth Mercedes which happens to be my second R107. I live in Virginia and bought the car from California without having seen or driven it. When it arrived I had some questions about the engine, transmission and chassis. The answers to all of my questions were to be found in an excellent book by Bernd Koehling. The book is titled: “Mercedes-Benz, everything you want to know about the SL R107 and SLC C107, from the 350SL to the 450SLC and 500SL Rally”. Not only does the book give you the history of the development of the R107, it also gives you technical specifications and production figures. Some of the most helpful features for me were the explanations of the vin numbers and the data card. If you own an R107 or C107 or are thinking of buying one I strongly suggest you get a copy of this book because it will make you much more comfortable with and confident of these fine example of automotive engineering.

An impressive book on the marque with a great level of detail, written by someone who knows these cars inside out. Essential reading for the current owner, anyone considering a purchase (lots of useful tips) or the enthusiast who is simply interested in learning more about these beautifully engineered machines. Lots of good quality colour images.
