I have been using this for many years to aid in 3D scanning shiny objects. It just takes the lightest coat to work well. If you spray a lot, you will add thickness to the part model. I recently purchased a consumer level Revopoint 3D Pop scanner ( https://amzn.to/3pKevK7 ). It doesn't do too well with shiny or dark objects. Magnaflux solves the issues. It cleans up pretty easily with water.

I spray it on shiny car parts (body panels, etc) to eliminate reflections for 3D scanning. Works much better than footspray or baby powder in alcohol. I'm happy to recommend it to other 3D enthusiasts.

I bought this for photogrammetry work. Reading some forums this product was suggested for doing photo scans on shiny objects. I took a chance and purchased it, and it worked just as was described. It is easy to remove from the surface after it is dried.

Worth every penny. Works great for 3D Scanning anything with a shine or black. Definitely recommend!
